Happy F-Basic appears!

That's really great emufan, cheers!

I managed to load up the F-Basic v5.0 dms file in Amiga Forever and it worked. The v1.1 dms file however, did not. I got some error about missing system information. But that doesn't matter since v5 appears to be working.

Now, I wonder if I can remember how to use it.

np. maybe these and the scene-cds by jonathan hold some more treasures

version 1.1 got some more examples than version 5 on its disk - just have a look.
the older version does work too, if you boot with a workbench disk and use 1.1 from shell. but I would prefer 5.0 too

edit: I just tested version 1.1 again, it works fine with latest winuae. displays a bootblock memory disabler and then boots into
the shell/cli prompt. command like:
dir examples
fb examples/TextSort

since both version will write onto the floppy, it is best to move any of the f-basic versions into a folder on the harddisk.

no, not blind. the "full pdf" was only referring to the ac-tech issue. sorry

edit: nevertheless, we can start sharing some findings:
- compile with debug option:
fb examples/textsort opt-d
- start debugger for the file above
sldb examples/textsort

Manual

That´s a good start so at least I know how to compile or debug a sourcecode but I still hope that someone is able to locate a manual.

Just tried again in winuae and it works! I originally launched from within the Amiga Forever player and it did not like the version 1.1 file. Maybe because of the custom boot loader.

thats was the aim
I just played with version 5 , and all the compiler debugger things you can do from within the editor "FEd" . you can call it from shell/cli - it does not come with an icon. ugly red default color here, but it is ok

I have now installed F-Basic on my real Amiga1200. Got it working but there was a gotcha. For some reason, after running the linker the Link program file would get corrupted!? Very strange. I fixed the problem by removing the write access to the compiler and linker files using:

Protect Link -w

Does anyone know the F-basic compiler-linker options? The manual is no where to be found and I'm playing around a bit with the system. Thanks.
