I don't care about TOSEC names. The AGA port was reviewed 9-10 month later than the ECS version.

I remember the ECS version coming out earlier, it seems Chaos Engine AGA got nearly "Speedball 2" treatment. I really liked the look of ECS version more.

Original VGA was 256 out of 64x64x64 (262144, 6 bits per red, green and blue) colors, not 256 out of 256..

I really should have looked that up before stating it here Always thought that the 256 colours are 'fixed'. Thanks for the info Toni

AGA vs OCS games

Which games that have been released both as OCS and AGA, are vastly superior in AGA form?

I sometimes wonder if AGA games are exactly the same except for more colour in the copper effects in the backgrounds.

OCS games have copper colour effects. AGA games mostly have paralax scrolling in background instead.

I think it's true the majority of AGA games only contain cosmetic enhancements but certainly not all.

For instance, Sabre Team and UFO are quicker to play in their AGA guises and consequently more playable as a result. Morph has an extra nine levels (from memory) although why they couldn't have gone in the original is a bit of a mystery. Jet Strike is a lot nicer in AGA/CD32 form too.

It does work the other way too - Bubble and Squeak was much improved in the OCS/ECS version due to better AI, and I never really liked the cluttered AGA backgrounds of Zool very much (not that I like Zool very much anyway but that's neither here nor there I guess).

UFO also has totally different music in AGA/OCS versions
I have no idea why.

Wing Commander AGA/CD32 blows the OCS version out of the water in terms of graphics.

I wonder if the CD32 version will be supported in Psygores WIP WHD patch.
