Hi Bytemind.

Yes, I'm still working on this game and its long story. And there is many features which I want to add.

I checked that BoulderDash on WinUae and it is a 'clone' of EmeraldMine. I call BoulderDash 'clone' of Emerald Mine, coz main engine is from EmeraldMine version 2.

If you can't wait I can upload to the zone latest version of Emerald Mine in next week I think. Just give me a sign.

This has reminded me of an ancient conversation I had back in the eighties.

A guy had an A1000 (he was pretty knowlegable) and he reckoned that the high score screen (I think) on Emerald Mine, which I seem to remember used a copper display, worked differently on his A1000 than it did on our A500's. I may be a bit confused here, but I think that was essentially it. Anything in that?

Hi,

Very first version of Emerald Mine WHDLoad version done. There is still so many work to do with this game. I spent unbelievable amount of time to fix this game and I learn so much about patching and improving this game. I want to thank to Mark Knibbs for docs/sources and biggest thanks for any ideas about EM. As I said its very first version but I decide to show it . Short info about fixes:
- fixed rom based routines (*6)
- fixed bad conversion from BPTR to APTR after dos routine LoadSeg
- fixed bad conversion from APTR to BPTR for dos routine UnLoadSeg
- fixed bad jmp to the end of music and fix access to the read only registers on mc68000 machines
- fixed programmer bug ( probably made by mistake )
- fixed wait blitter
- added missing blitwaits
- changed $bfe0ff --> $bfe001 (*5)
- fixed calculate time left bug with a4 address ( access to the wrong adr ), very hard to find this bug, occured only when you finish level and engine calculate time left bonus, then in A4 there is no baseA4 address and random memory is written. The bug depend on how em and data are located in memory
- fixed jewel sparkle bug
- fixed cpu speed depend loop
- removed blithogs (*3)
- fixed bug which generate bad address of bitplanes
- removed protection
- fixed SOPROL routine ( title music player used in EM ). Many fixes

For sure this slave will be rewritten to fix, improve EM . Next things to do. Very shot list:
- relocate main engine ( em ) to the fast memory
- join files to minimize amount of files
- change raw screen into interleaved to speed up blitter operation +change blitter operation: one blit instead of four blits.
- possibility to change blitter copy routine into processor routine + move gfx objects to the fast mem
- add keyboard support ( fully configurable, for two players )
- add support for Emerald Mine clones ( like AmiDasher, AceMines1, Adventures of Mr. B part 1 , and others .. ).

Emerald Mine WHD in the zone by the way. Any ideas / criticism are welcome. I'm open for any suggestion.

Regards
Adam

Great,

Could you check third or fourth ( level with drops down ) level and give me short feedback. I mean about speed of the game. On that level when there is a lot of the drops then EM slowdown a bit o my machine ( a1200/030 blizzard 1230 50mhz ). Thank you. For information: that slave doesn't contains any speed up optimization. If I find some time I will try to release next version.

Regards

Well done so far Adam!

I am also one of those guys waiting for a final whdload version of Emerald Mine, becuase I think it is the best Boulder Dash clone on the Amiga.

I found no real bugs in your v0.1 slave so far - why not release it as version 1.0 on the whdload site and add later improvements as version 1.1... you would also probably get bug reports if the slave still has serious problems.

Hello ungi,

Point for you, same ( or almost same ) question but about Bagitman ask me Wepl few days ago via Mantis bugtracker. And I'm still thinking about both games

And... probably I will release both soon

Hi Asman,

can you please re-upload the beta slave? I'm another Emerald Mine Enthusiast and can't wait for it. Is it compatible to the many clones too (like Eagle Mine, Amiga Mine, Crazy Mine etc)?
