TFX was originally created on the PC and was given rave reviews (it was during the 486 times). An Amiga conversion was started, but disappeared for several years.
Towards the final issues of CU Amiga, they managed to get the entire game and give it away on CD. It required a hefty Amiga to run it |

Oh dear!
TFX is a load of old bollox!
Even my 68o6o can't run it at a decent speed, and Ocean were originally gonna release it for A12oo o2o! HaHA What about: Flight of the Intruder Though my vote went to F-29 Retaliator.........despite its bugs, it was easy to get into.... though for nostalgias sake, it has to be FA 18 Interceptor... |

Ohhhhh that was a difficult choice
So many titles to choose from In the end I choose "BIRDS OF PREY" simply because of the large choice of Aircraft and good gameplay. However it was either that or F19 Stealth or Knights of the Sky (However I must admit althought NOT a flight sim the most common airplane type game I played was "WINGS" :bounce |

TFX In the Zone
Its going in the zone, use JOINZ to put the three files together (its a zip file).
The Floppy file directory has been removed as you no longer need it as you have all the other fpu, o2o, o4o files instead. If you ever get it running quick, let me know, because its DOG slow on my Amiga. |

Thanks, Galahad . I'll try my best. Never knew it even existed. As for reviving this thread...glad I did. The more recent members are voting on a year old poll!

That was a tough one. I missed out on many titles 'back in the day'; but of the ones that I have played, Gunship 2000 wins by a nose.
Of course, Interceptor was right up there - partly because it'll always have that special something, being one of the first games that I owned. 'G2000' took things further, however and for me at least, was a finely balanced title. With the ability to tweak difficulty, great graphics and sound, reasonable A.I. and the feeling of being part of a campaign (with a wingman and fellow pilots), I still enjoy the occasional session with this game/sim (delete as appropriate ) Oh yeah, and the graphical detail could be adjusted to suit one's preferences and system (a 2-meg A500+ for me ). So this would be the PC version. Which runs much faster and would be much more enjoyable. |

Thanks for the input Akira. I thought that maybe...and too bad its in Australia. The shipping would be a bit too much. Ah well. On naother note, anyone have any luck yet with Night Raider/Dive Bomber?
I know its still on Twist's and Cody's respective lists. |

Can a moderator edit the poll and put Biplane Duel on there for me please
Now I think a bit more there is also Armour Gedden (one of my fave Amiga null-modem games). Surely Armour Gedden gets extra points for being a sim of virtually everything worth simming ! ? Last edited by Jim; 25 August 2002 at 03:45. |
