Ah, here it is: Jay's Song! This one really inspired me to learn how to use Sonix (which led me to the whole world of computer music).

These are all minor-key, slightly diminished sounding songs... ahh, bitter-sweet melancholy ;-)

The first ones which comes to thought is Supremacy, James Pond 2 Lost Patrol, MI, Turrican II, Nitro, It Came From The Desert, Elvira and Mental Hangover. Hard to pick a winner.

Edit: Ok, I narrow it down to three atleast - James Pond 2, Nitro and Mental Hangover.

Fake edit: If I have to pick one - Nitro.

The music from Enigma demo - Trip to Mars is probably my absolute all time favourite.
Turrican 2 title music (I know it's been mentioned many times already!) is another.
The loading music from Captive, as the screen gradually built up in a series of horizontal lines dropping down was also pretty cool.
And another personal favorite was the title music (I think) of Simulcra (the bit where the globe thing made of dots was spinning around).
All awesome bits of Amiga music that still give me the 'Amiga Feeling'!!!

Then games only in no particular order:
Battle Squadron
Bionic Commando
R-Type
Savage
Out Run intro
Blood Money

and some more certainly but this is all i can remember now.

Here's a properly encoded version of sleepwalk.. Uade 2.12. It still plays a very tiny bit wrong, but at least it doesn't depress you like the SOAMC one does. :-/

http://jope.fi/sleepwalk.aac

Karsten Obarski is one of the few guys who made tunes that stand the test of time, using only samples from the ST-xx sampledisks he provided with The Ultimate Soundtracker. Sure, it sounds old, but compared to some of the hideous things people made with those samples back in the 80s.. Whoa.

Excuse me, I'll just lean back a bit and close my eyes while mod.sleepwalk is playing in my headphones. Blink away a tear, perhaps.. For me, this is definitely one of Those Songs that this thread is about. :'-)

.. I'm 9 years old in front of my first Amiga again, looking at the Star Frontiers cracktro to Tetris inside my head. Has it really been 20 years? :-)

Turrican 2, Wrath of the Demon and Horror Zombies are the ones that left a lasting impression on me Probably the odd tune here and there also, but nothing that instantly comes to my mind.

Had a listen through my cache of 15 sample mods and remembered some more golden oldies from my pre-teens. :-D

mod.unit5
mod.goldrunner
mod.endtheme

Kitty, I have to agree that Rock N Roll level 1 has always been a favourite of mine. Definitely one of Huelsbeck's better tunes. Doesn't have that sentimental value for me though, merely a good tune. :-)

you can also use the modland recording interface which works reasonably well for this tune (and others). also uses uade as backend for 4 channel mods.
