Some Origin corrections and additions
1) Scooby Doo And Scrappy Doo:
http://hol.abime.net/1843 should have origin set to TV 2) I think those two Popeye games should have origin set to comic strip (like the other Popeye games): http://hol.abime.net/3746 http://hol.abime.net/5539 3)Quest for Time-Bird (and its alternate entries) should have origin set to comic book (as said in the notes of the entry ) http://hol.abime.net/2264 4) Based on the release date (1988) compared to the alternate entries (both 1989), Bob Morane: Ocean was the first release of the three. http://hol.abime.net/168 Bob Morane is the hero of some Belgian (in French) novels (and later comics. And even later of a song by the band Indochine : [ Show youtube player ] ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Morane So origin should be set to either Book or perhaps Personality - Literary? Although in a different setting, I'd say it is a sort of Perry Rhodan, if that can help to choose between the two possibilities. 5) Aventures de Moktar, Les: http://hol.abime.net/3198 That one is quite complex to determine. Moktar is originally the "hero" of a song made by the French humorist Lagaf': http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vincent_Lagaf%27 [ Show youtube player ] Actually, it might originate from one of his sketch, but the whole universe of the game clearly comes from the song. So, origin should be set to errr something... Not sure if it should apply to Titus the fox: http://hol.abime.net/1449 Speaking of which, given that the character is very likely to have been based on the logo character of the company (Titus) I guess it should have a specific origin too? |

A few more for tonight:
1) The two Denver games: http://hol.abime.net/4945 http://hol.abime.net/5309 should have origin set to TV since they feature the eponymous dinosaur from the cartoon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denver,_the_Last_Dinosaur 2) Emmanuelle: http://hol.abime.net/2848 as said in the notes originates from a novel, so origin -> Book or perhaps Movie? Not sure which one since I have not read or seen either of these. Perhaps someone knows if like Dune it was based on the movie more than the book? 3) Shouldn't the Mickey's and Donald's games set to origin Film - Short (supposing the cartoons they appeared first in are in that category?)?: http://hol.abime.net/4891 http://hol.abime.net/3694 http://hol.abime.net/5310 http://hol.abime.net/5359 http://hol.abime.net/5314 http://hol.abime.net/5421 http://hol.abime.net/4890 http://hol.abime.net/2460 http://hol.abime.net/2459 http://hol.abime.net/385 http://hol.abime.net/386 Edit: All those are done 4) Guy Roux Manager: http://hol.abime.net/4776 which is just an alternate entry (from 1993) for Championship Manager (1992) This release is named after Guy Roux a rather famous French foot club manager: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Roux If that was the only release I would say the origin should be set to Personality (like the hockey games featuring Wayne Gretzky are). But as it is an alternate release I don't know. Perhaps another one for Cody? Last edited by lilalurl; 20 June 2011 at 15:38. |

1) Mot:
http://hol.abime.net/2520 Should have Origin set to comic book (author: Alfonso Azpiri) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mot_%28comics%29 It could have been adapted from the TV animated series (featuring the same characters) but apparently, in the TV series the Mot monster was purple, whereas in the comic book it is orange. Confirmed by this cover: http://azpiri.free.fr/bdlio/mot03.html Done 2) Panza Kick boxing http://hol.abime.net/1010 Should have Origin set to personality, since it receives its name from the kick boxer André Panza. Besides the moves were digitized from footage of him (see notes). Done, still waiting for opinion on BotB Not sure what to advise about Best of the best (Panza 2): http://hol.abime.net/96 3) Passagers du Vent, Les and Passagers du Vent II, Les and their other language versions: http://hol.abime.net/3612 http://hol.abime.net/3613 http://hol.abime.net/4789 http://hol.abime.net/4790 http://hol.abime.net/5768 http://hol.abime.net/5460 http://hol.abime.net/5461 Should have Origin set to comic book (see notes in the first link) All done, except the MIA Italian version (5768) 4) Pinocchio http://hol.abime.net/5304 Judging from the screenshots (including the "the Story" part in the title screen), I'd say set Origin to Book / Literature Done 5) Ranx: http://hol.abime.net/1199 Should have Origin set to comic book. Based on (besides the name) on a comparison between screenshot #3 and http://www.amazon.com/Ranx-2-Happy-B...7996043&sr=1-1 Obviously the same character. Ofc, X: the video game was likely to mean the game was based on another work Another cover here: http://livre.fnac.com/a841612/Ranx-T...ork-Liberatore This leads me to wonder about where the credits for Graphician : Albin Michel came from? I guess I could start the game (and play it to the end if needed) but ofc if you have the information handy, it would save some time. From the title screen perhaps? (copyright) Albin Michel is actually a French publishing company. Named after its founder of course (deceased in 1943). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89ditions_Albin_Michel http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albin_Michel You can see his name besides les Humanoïdes associés, more or less, another publishing company, on the second cover I linked to. On top of the cover, you can see the names of the two authors, Liberatore and Tamburini. Apparently the comic book is originally (original Italian edition) named RanXerox: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RanXerox Tanino Liberatore: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanino_Liberatore Stefano Tamburini: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefano_Tamburini Already done by Cody 6) Red Mars http://hol.abime.net/3678 This one I am not sure at all and it would need somebody who has played the game to confirm (or perhaps the manual if it is somewhere around?) There is a good chance it is based on/inspired by the eponymous novel: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Mars Novel published in 1994 and game in 1999. Two screenshots mention the year 2019 and 2028 and apparently the novel starts in 2026 (2019 could be some flashback/historical part). So I believe it is quite worth investigating. Since it does not yet have 100 screenshots, I guess Cody could take opportunity to do those while checking if the game is indeed based on the novel . 7) Roue De La Fortune, La and Glücksrad: http://hol.abime.net/2743 http://hol.abime.net/5222 Should have Origin set to TV. See notes. Done 8) Bobo/Stir Crazy: http://hol.abime.net/169 Should have Origin set to comic book or strip. I'd say comic book (there were several of them). However, apparently it originated in a mini-series format, which could be a sort of comic strip. But well, unless someone has a scan I guess comic book is the safest choice. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobo_%28comics%29 Confirmed by the title screen saying (in French) "based upon the original work of P. Deliege" Done 9) Tale Of Peter Rabbit, The http://hol.abime.net/5797 Should have Origin set to Book / Literature See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Rabbit confirmed by title screen referring to Beatrix Potter (author) Done 10) Trois Petits Cochons s'Amusent, Les http://hol.abime.net/4454 Should have Origin set to film short. See notes (although it is said based loosely) Done 11) All the Jack Nicklaus' games should probably have Origin set to personality (not sure if he only endorsed it or is a playable character. Not sure if that even matters for the Origin qualification). http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?...ack%20Nicklaus All done, except the Jack Nicklaus' Unlimited Golf & Course Design compilation (5030) Last edited by lilalurl; 22 June 2011 at 13:11. |

He is a fan of Indochine (the band which made a song about Bob Morane), wants to start a band in the same music style and wants me to be the lead singer?
