Ha! There was a variant of this in the Amiga version of RD - I think it was just the second part of the message, or I only saw the second part of it. I think I was examining memory after a soft reset.

I'm glad that software put messages in their boot block. It would have been nice if it was a standard saying that this is a custom boot block needed for this game to run. I remember being 10 and destroying a trained copy of Golden Axe (With Dwarf buggy graphics) as I didn't know what type of boot block it was and I had just been blamed the day before for bring viruses to school, I didn't know what they were at the time.

Once I got a copy of LSD/Nuke, the amount of of my disks that had been infected by Saddam. I remember some later disks saying that it was not a virus and that it was indeed a custom loader.

Anyway, this is my first project at Millennium...
before this I used to program mainframes for a

Hope you enjoy the game! Now, stop looking through

Zool CD32 has symbols and so has Roadkill CD32... It helps a lot figuring out the problems of the game.

I love the way people protected their source code back in the day. Now most of them are lost... Good job.

Skate of the Art
Quote:
main programming language: C - Manx Aztec C68K compiler, version 3.6a
* parts are written in 68000 machine code.

* all graphics were created in DeluxePaint V3.0 pal version by Joost Honig.

* the sprites were converted from ILBM (interleaved bitmap) graphics to
16 color attached sprites using SPRED v2.0 from the 1001 Software
Development Kit.

* The sprite animation was checked in SuperSpriteAnim from 1001 Software
Development. In this program we developed the sophisticated multiframe
animations of the several jumps, fall, acceleration etc. In this program
we can adjust the displaytime, height, colors, depth of every single
frame.

* the levels were designed in the 1001 Software Development Level Editor
written by the master programmer Ste..Ste..Ste..Steve vanderHorst.
(r.i.p. 1966-1988).

* all the data files are compressed using the 1001 Card Cruncher.
Original idea by TSI./1001. Converted to Amiga by Lord Blitter/BS1.
Normal size reduction is 25%-30%. Data are runtime de-compressed in less
than one second.

* The digitized samples were created with the custom designed 16/8 bits
CD digitizer. This hi-tech piece of equipment was specially constructed
by the 1001 Technical Support Group. Great work Gents and Lads !
Special thanks to Remco Borsato whose samples we didn't use.

* Hires black/white video digitizing was done by Arnold van Eersel. We are
very grateful to him for his support. Joost used these pictures as an
outline for the graphics, therefore they can't be distinguished as
digitized pictures any more.

* The music was created in SoundTracker v7.0 by D.O.C. Original program
by Karsten (Carsten ?) Obarski (Obaski ?). The music was composed and
produced by Frank van Eykelen (Erik's brother).

* Using Steve's VCR in the one-frame-display mode we discovered one
animation error. Finally we were convinced that this $1500 VCR is worth
its money (for us).

* A big fuck to all those people who said they were interested in buying
the game but didn't show up because they didn't have enough green.
(e.g. TopDown Development, Capital Software)
We don't want to be rude, but them guys are a BIG pain in our asses!

* If you are a hacker, then we know that you haven't bought this game.
Ofcourse you like this game and you know that we've put a lot of hours
in it. Show that you're a nice guy/girl and buy this game in your
computer shop. If you guys buy enough games, we might think about writing
a new game !

Gunshoot by Axxiom in 1988

It roughly translates to:

Whoever has come this far and is reading these important lines: We ask you not to pass on this program so quickly, as we have concluded a revenue sharing agreement. There would also be the possibility that you receive an original (contact: RSI). Thanks in advance and have fun cracking. Many greetings to Pater Becker (exec), Die Lebende Legende, DAG (don't drink so much) and everyone else.

Edit: Sorry, after posting I just realized Codetapper already posted this a while ago. I still leave it here as the translation is a bit more complete.
