monitor buttons

It's more a curiosity than a request... there are these 2 little switches on the rear of the Commodore 1084s, i'm not relly sure about what they are for; one is to swith to monochrome, the other makes the display black out, with some colour spot only visible.
when i first got the A500, in 1990 i think, the one that makes the display dark was switched on, and i was not able to understand why, so me and my brother played for 3 weeks to Xenon 2 and Lotus 1 in this pitch black until i accidentaly clicked it...
however, i would like to see that on winuae if it's possible.

ok, i have the 1084s manual here.
the switch closes to the yellow phone jack --> CVBS/LCA -- a switch used to alternate between LCA (Luminance,Chroma,Audio) input and CVBS
the other one next to it --> CVBS/RGB -- a switch used to alternate between an RGB and CVBS (Composite Video Signal)
hope that helps.
