Ultimate Gloom fullscreen

I'm trying to play Ultimate Gloom in WinUAE, but can't figure how to make the game start in fullscreen. I always get this tiny window with huge black borders around it:

If I press Esc to bring the ingame menu I can set it to run fullscreen, but there doesn't seem to be any way of saving this so that the game starts automatically that way.

This surely can be done:

Anyone knows how can I force the game to start with full resolution? Are there any prefs files I need to edit?

PS: I have the same exact problem with Zombie Massacre.

Send a message via ICQ to Predseda
IIRC there was some setup for HD installed Gloom, prefs that you run once, where you could set resolution, window size, game version, maybe even starting level and graphic card. You then saved it and clicked "Playgloom" icon.

But.... he knows that.

To quote th G3-ZE manual:
To set Gloom up for your particular setup you must click on the 'Setup' icon before playing
Gloom.

Here the full version.

I read the manual Michael, but can't see anything in there that helps my case. You can set the resolution there, but no matter what I set there game always starts in a small window.

Only way to make it fullscreen is through the ingame menu, but there's no way to save that apparently so there must be some other way of doing it.

Umm now I wonder if Setup requires RTG to allow setting up the game to run fullscreen.

No I play in pal fullscreen.
And I have never even touched the setup. At least I have no memory of having done that.

If you need more detailed infos here is the other doc.

maybe i did run setup and selected Gloom 3 - Ze
From the manual:
This is the option most users should select.
It will let you run Gloom 3 Ze at a fast, colourful resolution and at
full screen too!
Unless you have a Graphics card then this is the best option
for you!

I'm running Gloom 3 - Ze, but it doesn't automatically start in fullscreen. It lets me play at fullscreen alright, but only after enabling it through the game menu.

Michael, any chance you could share your Gloom 3 install folder? I could try comparing the prefs with mine and hopefully figure what's different.

Ok I had the time to take a look at the game. I think you are right I had gloom on a screen selected. I was mislead by the fact that I used a pal screenmode for the game.
The setup refused to run in scalos and I was too lazy to reinstall it on a fresh wb install.
After doing so, I see what you mean now.
It starts with the smallest window settings all the time.
And the setup does not offer any way to set and save the windowsize.
Even worse. If I use the on a screen option now, it keeps the small size no matter what screenmode I select.

WTF???

There are youtube videos showing it to start directly into fullscreen, so it's possible I just can't figure how...

I guess my idea about the game defaulting to fullscreen on RTG mode only is possible now that you confirmed it also doesn't work for you.
