Benchtrash on WB3.1 does not start
Hi,
I'm a little bit confused. The readme for Benchtrash says: Code:
Architecture: m68k-amigaos >= 2.0.4 Requires: 3.9 recommended I also tried it with a WB3.5 workbench.library but still nothing. It works fine on 3.9 though. So, I guess the readme is wrong!? I couldn't find anything about the requirements in the guide. Also, the guide is mentioning a Configuration Window, which I can't get to show up. I've tried clicking twice on the AppIcon and the actual Benchtrash icon. The AppIcon just opens the trashcan window. http://aminet.net/package/util/wb/BenchTrash |

I've seen that as well but I thought it was meant to be used on 3.9 only until he got the copyright back and the versions after that added support for lower WB versions. Well maybe that was the case and then the requirements changed in a later version.

If I have to be honest, I never understood the usefulness of recycle bins on Amiga, one expects to find deleted files in the recycle bin, but this does not happen

Maybe it needs ClassAct installed, since it mentions using a ReAction GUI?

Not that it really matters though, I'm not planning on using it (since I mostly use DOpus4 anyway). I just wanted the icon. I was using a different tool before, which hooked into the DeleteFile function and moved files to the trashcan when deleting files with DOpus. But it also broke DOpus option to delete protected files. |

To answer the question of the OP: Yes, the GUI requires reaction. Without that, you don't have the GUI, but the remaining parts still work and you can configure the tool by its tooltypes. |
