AmiKit-Port to Amithlon

Hi everyone I'm currently porting Amikit-Real to Amithlon using my new Amithlon-Box.

Is anyone else wishing something like this?

Best wishes.

It would be nice to see it, although I don't know much about Amithlon. For example: Does it use an OS (linux) or is it somehow just a UAE emulation?

Both. It uses a custom Linux kernel to boot into the Amiga environment, you can also use the Linux drivers. It is a very nice Amiga system with RTG once set up, you have to use the 68k version of UAE to run software that uses the Amiga chipset though. I use AmigaSYS on my Amithlon installs but it would be nice to have Amikit too.

Retrofan what was your way to get in contact?

Best wishes

You can contact him on the Amikit website or through the forum. There has been numerous requests for a Amithlon version over the years and he wasn't against the idea in the posts I have seen, however he did say he wasn't familiar with Amithlon and someone else would have to do the work. The posts are probably still on the Amikit forum if you want to have a look before contacting him.

Thx Retrofan. I asked Amikit directly in the Forum.

@Retrofan:
Do you know a guide which explains the installer?

What installer, the one of AKReal? It's just to have an OS3.9 BB2 installed on an 030 AGA amiga with 16Mb or more ram and to make a click on the AKReal installer...

You can also later add RTG with these steps.

For the Pc version you better ask for details at the forum.

Ehm. No your Installer is just straight forward. The RealInstall just runs fine after a few small tweaks. You just have to install Picasso96 afterwords.

No I need a guide how to make my own Installscript. This script should just give the user the possibility to check the needed drivers for his used kernel.

For example.
You use Kernel 4 by Milanca.
To get the linux-side drivers working you have to install the drivers used by Kernel 4.

This should be done by a small requester in the installer.

My Problem is that i can't find a guide how to built this installer-script.
I don't need this script done by another user I want to built it by myself.

Oh and sorry for my really bad english. It's got real rusted.

So a little Update.
I'm currently in contact with the original author auf Amikit.
He like my idea of a amithlon specific version of Amikit.
Now I have to find a way to install it without the copyrighted files.
My favorite solution would be an iso file which could be burned on a cdr.
This way the installer will do all the work on the amiga-side of amithlon. Everything the user has to do would be to install a plain Workbench on a hard-disk.
All the driver part will be done by the installer.
What's your oppinion about this?

Yes that would be nice. So I could create a new empty partition on the HD of my Pc, put there an OS3.9 BB2 and the installer could install all of the files there, just like I do with my installer, but in this case it would add also the Amithlon files?

So then when I like I could change on the Bios the booting order and I could directly boot into AKReal -or AmiKit for Pc-

Would I have access there to the rest of partitions? - Well I suppose no-

hi arti and greetings to poland.

Nice work. Your Videos on Youtube inspired me to build a amithlon dedicated version of amikit.
My goal is to built an automatic install of this distribution and to integrate UAE.
With a real beefed up system this would make it possible to use WHD-Load and so on.

A question to the real Amiga-Freaks here.
Does someone knows a tool which compares two drives and will copy the differences to a spezific drawer? this would make the building of the archive a lot more easy.

Hi everyone a little update.
This post is written on my Amithlon running Amikit 8.2.
Currently everything is working and the next step will be the integration of E-uae into this build.
An Amithlon dedicated Version is near.

Greetings

Yes the first built will be a simple archive which should be extracted over an existing amithlon install without any drivers or updates. This should give the most simple start with this type of system.

I would post a screenshot but this System just looks like a simple install under winUAE.

Just now i cleaned a lot of useless things under Amithlon. It's a shame that this System doesn't support chipset-using-applications by default.
