I was thinking of games like the 256 color Sierra adventure games... I think in those cases, using AGA would have made them look a *lot* better since Sierra made such lazy ports and seemingly didn't bother at all to try and make the games look nice with a reduced amount of colors.
They frankly look terrible, look at Space Quest 4 for instance

Space Quest IV and Police Quest III were by far the worst offenders. King's Quest V didn't look so good either.

On the other hand, King's Quest VI looked fantastic, and is probably the best amiga port Sierra ever released. But then wasn't it Revolution ported it, who also made Lure of the Temptress and Beneath A Steel Sky?

Yes, that one was made by Revolution, too bad they didn't outsource their ports sooner
Really quite good version, only too bad it only has the shortest ending of the game.
And too bad they didn't release an AGA version of it as well... but it does look quite good as it is so not a huge loss.

Best thing about it (other than not having the completely butched graphics of many of the other ports of Sierra 256 color games that were done in-house) is that it's actually playable on a standard Amiga unlike the lousy ports Sierra did themselves.

Wet, Napalm, Exodus, Genetic Species...all very nice AGA games...but they need some memory and CPU-power.

I also like "Monsters of Terror" (Wizard of Wor clone)...because of the gameplay itself - not the GFX. But it´s AGA-only. Or Bomber Blaster (see AGTW)...in my opinion the best Bobmerman-clone for Amiga (multiplayer).

Euro tour was AGA and indeed is more colourful... No difference with the first PGA

I think it's better to concentrate on how AGA can perform now, when using things like whdload and an accelerator

Did Theme Park AGA have any significant improvements over the standard version? I remember the normal Amiga version was a little limited compared to other formats (less rides etc).

And that's all I can think of now, AGA exclusive!

Virocop was nice on AGA, but I never really seen the ECS version, Im sure is also very good.

One of the more deceiving is JamesPondIII, why is this AGA?? Im surprised theres no ECS version.
Wow, im replying to a six year old comment..

The third game was early on also on developement on the miggy 500,
But later on the developers stated that 512 KB/ 1 MB was to little,
But how did the Megadrive & SNES got a port of it ?! both had a lot less RAM than the 500 !

Zool 2, its a God like game for platformer veterans like me !

The first zool game is my favorite 2D platformer of all time,
I saw the game first on a Review on screwattack (the website)
And brought the SNES version.... (HORRIBLE PORT) and it convinced me to buy a Amiga CD32

just for the sequel and I bought the first one again for the system
Since then I leered more about the amiga and now Im a fan of Commodore & Amiga

Thus thanks to an 18 year old game Im a Amiga user today !

(Oh, and Ive also leered that the SNES is overrated :P)

6 years after and Im still here

Glad you'll become an amiga user,.. its nice if you can enjoy amiga games as we did, old chaps, make it in those times.

I recommend you to check Fire&Ice (again=) ), First Samurai and Second Samurai, Turrican 1&2, I strongly recommend you Traps'N'Treasures and even older games like Nebulus (amazing in C64).

Also I dont know if you´ll enjoy games like Cannon Fodder or Cadaver as we did..

btw, I remember I enjoyed coin-op conversions just to look how similar could the programmers did it,.. the ones I more enjoyed were R-TypeII (in NTSC mode to gain framerate), NewZealandStory, Pang, DoubleDragon2, SuperHang-on, GoldenAxe. and many more

Hope you enjoy old amiga legacy =)

Super Stardust
Roadkill
Brian the Lion (looked pretty, played like ass though)
Pinball Illusions
Putty Squad (what could have been eh?)
Skidmarks

Wasn't that overly impressed with AGA although it does shine through on some games, I think the demoscene utilised it more effectively.

I think (though my memory could always be playing tricks on me) that the AGA version is a 'full' version of the game so all the rides and things are present and correct. I suppose the ECS version just couldn't handle all the game's features.

The data does not have to be loaded into RAM on those consoles because it can be accessed directly from the cartridge.

King's Quest VI doesn't use 256 colours and isn't an AGA game.

The problem wasn't the chipset (although there were problems there...hello Planar, i'm looking at you!), the problem was releasing a machine running at half speed out of the box, with no fast ram, and no HD floppy. There's plenty of OCS/ECS games running with between 90-150 colours. AGA if equiped with the memory and storage, AGA was capable of going well beyond this.
