The poll has all the official UK Commodore desktop packs. Someone else added the Amiga International Magic Pack, which as it was so popular I thought we'd include.
Commodore UK invented the "packs" or bundles. That time was a magical era. My local corner computer shop managed to project itself into one of the top 3 Amiga / Atari resellers (Ladbrooke computing) by advertising in the 3 main Amiga magazines. Silica and Evesham were the other two biggies. Ladbrooke is still there (well it was in 2002 which is when I was last there) but it is a shadow of it's former self (still in the same shop though!). Silica is dead and Evesham is still going strong having embrassed the PC overlocking scene. Last edited by alexh; 14 February 2006 at 13:41. |

As I thought the stats are showing most people here are die-hard Amiga fans. They all bought their A1200 as soon as it came out.

I got the US A500 Starter pack. Standard OCS KS1.3, 512k, etc. with Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, F/A-18, F40 Pursuit, Kindwords, and Fusion Paint.
Same as here. A couple of years later I got the "I'm going to have to eat Cup-of-Noodles for 6 months" A3000 pack. |

I remember the Captain Planet game being especially crappy, though I have to admit I used to watch the series. Deluxe Paint, on the other hand, gave me years of pleasure (or was it Deluxe 4? I got an adf of that recently, and it seems to be the one I remember); making little animations was strangely addictive! Never could get it to work with the Bards Tale Construction Set, though. |

Considering this is the ENGLISH amiga board, I cannot believe how few votes there have been. I thought everyone reading this thread would think back with nostalgia about unwrapping their first Amiga on xmas day or whenever! Sigh

Mine wasn't in a pack, strictly speaking, but was a promotional offer made by Commodore for education professionals. So I had an A500, extra 512k in the trapdoor, monitor, and external disk drive all sold together, which was nice, but on the software side it only came with Workbench 1.3 and a large AmigaVision binder with the disks and a nice printed manual. Which looked very nice, certainly, but was poor company until I was able to get out and buy a game or two.

Don't think my option is on there, as I got a 500+ that wasn't the Class of the 90s pack.
By the way, not sure if I've had a chance to thank you for the awesome Thalion webshrine from a while back. |

Batman pack for me. Coming from the Speccy and C64 Deluxe Paint II was absolutely stunning to me. I dabbled with that for many, many hours
I remember also just being so impressed with the visuals in Interceptor, and that wonderful low, humming music. Great days. |
