choosing higher resolution closes winuae on my laptop
hi all,
thanks to members of this board and their tips i now run even aga stuff at good speed on my weedy laptop. i still have one problem remaining, i can not eliminate black borders on my laptop screen.if i choose anything above say 80% of my laptops native resolution winuae closes.the lower i go with the res the larger the black borders (using the filter option to stretch the screen only stretches to the black borders). also,if i use a low res like 800x600 only the middle of the game screen is visible and no amount of stretching makes the missing graphics hove into view. ive settled for a res 85% of my screens native res, i can see all of the game screen but ive got a black half inch border all around the game screen (14 inch laptop screen),obviously matching the res to my screens native res would eliminate these borders but winuae closes down if i select the matching res. in my other thread toni mentioned letting the graphics card do the scaling, how do i do this (ive selected the graphics card in display,as opposed to primary display driver, but same issue). i may be completely on the wrong track with this query, screen res/scaling are like latin to me. is it pos the graphics card can not handle 1368x768 (the desktop is ok in this res),im stumped. cheers |

and remember to use -logflush command line parameter because log usually gets truncated (data not yet flushed to disk) if it crashes.
also include working log for comparison. (and do not bother with logs if you aren't using latest version) |

cheers cd,
ive not yet used the latest winuae, but im itchin to give a go 2nite. one wee point though, if winuae abruptly closes after i select a certain res, how can i create the log dump ?, do i create it before the crash ? or is their some way to do it after the crash ? anyhow, ill give it a go asap. actually cd, seeing as you are online now, is beta 15 stable, and have you noticed any probs with ntsc save state reloading ?, just thought i would ask, you know how paranoid i am ! (and your screenshot does suggest you are using it) |

You start WinUAE from the command line. Just enter : WinUAE -logflush and hit enter/return. Haven't really tried NTSC savestates yet. I can have a look tomorrow though. |
