Workbench 3.1 - original disk contents
I'd really appreciate it if someone could do me a favour.
The new ClassicWB packs have an install script that updates all files to 3.1. Since some files on the ClassicWB are newer versions than provided by the 3.1 disks, I have to be selective as to what gets copied over. This means I need to know the contents of an original set of 3.1 disks. I thought they were all the same, but my Storage 3.1 disk has keymaps and printers on it while other people seem to be missing these files. Can someone who has an original copy of Workbench 3.1 and knows it hasn't been altered please list the contents of all the disks (if you can be bothered), or just the storage disk as that's the one I'm really interested in. All you have to do is place the disk in DF0:, open shell and type: List >ram:Storage df0: all This will create a text file called "storage" in the ram disk, containing the disks contents. Copy the text file into windows and paste the contents here. Repeat this for all the workbench 3.1 disks. Or, again (if you can't be bothered), just have a quick look on the storage disk and tell me if anything is in the keymaps and printers drawers. Thanks! |

It's ok, this isn't essential. I can adjust the install script so it just continues if a file is missing.
It would be useful however to know what an unaltered set of disks contains. |

I haven't got a tosec Workbench set and then again, you can't be sure they haven't been altered. Well, I have a part tosec set thanks to bippy, but not the workbench portion. Just thought someone might have adfs of their original Workbench 3.1 set handy to confirm the contents without question.
I have only my original unaltered Workbench 3.0 disks that came with my A1200 and a dodgy 3.1 set that I think may have been altered. As I said, it's more out of interest as I've just about finished re-writing the install scripts to get around any issues. The files in question (printers, keymaps) were the same in Workbench 3.0 and 3.1 anyway. |

Thanks ppill!
Just as I thought, some peoples copy of the Storage disk is less than complete. Is that from TOSEC? Or your own copy? I have a feeling the ones in TOSEC are altered too - remember that Anticlick that had been added to them all! Anyway, I've got everything sorted now. The missing printers and keymaps are identical to my original unaltered Workbench 3.0 disks, so the fact that some peoples 3.1 storage disks don't have them isn't an issue. All the other 3.1 files seem present, apart from the CDO dos driver has gone for a walk on the altered Storage disks. |
