How to overcome this OS 3.9 picture.datatype issue?
Hi,
When any program uses picture.datatype to load a picture from disk, on my system, the AmigaOS mouse pointer stops to move, and after 500 ms or less, it continues to move again, but I see this "freezing" happening up to 5 times every second, at any time, while the picture loads from disk... There are anyone that doesnt have this issue on his computer? Or, in another way, anyone knows how I can fix or configure OS 3.9 picture.datatype to read simple 16 color pictures and not "destroy" multitasking on AmigaOS 3.9 completely? When I install OS 3.1 picture.datatype, that issue doesnt happen. There is any way to fix it, or install another, faster, enhanced OS 3.9 compatible picture.datatype on my system? Thank you, cheers! Hi Retrofan,
Its WinUAE emulating a Amiga 1200 with Blizzard 1230 cycle exact at 28 MHz, 68030 emulation, no FPU or MMU. I am asking because the mouse pointer stops responding, although the CPU meter is below 80% at max and the FPS is rock solid... When I use the OS 3.9 picture.datatype, the mouse stops responding also when I open a drawer full of icons on Workbench. It gets back to normal when I swap the picture.datatype by other. That happen only with AGA or ECS no matter what machine or chipset WinUAE will emulate. Other tasks run fine although the pointer stops responding. I use Cybergraphx too, and although I use Workbench most of the time on AGA screenmodes, I would like a compatible picture.datatype to use with both AGA and the graphics card emulation in one single hardfile. I woudnt't use cycle exact, but fastest as possible, it's too slow for me, and also I always preffer to use JIT, but I hope any other will give a better answer. This seems a WinUAE question. Anyway I woudn't use an 030 and a graphic card.
