Blizzard 603e repairers in the U.K
Hi,
Anyone in the U.K who can repair a couple of 603e Blizzard PPC cards? Have already reached out to Stanchu101, but as we’re out of the E.U here in. The U.K might be tricky with customs and tax charges now. Please exclude Retropassion (Amiga Passion), as I won’t use him If you want to know more, PM me. 1 board needs a reflash as I’ve screwed mine up and won’t force flash as it doesn’t know the MHz of the card. 1 board causes Chip RAM to crash out with errors, but boots and can be seen Cheers. |

Have you tried telling the flasher the speed?
Something like 'Blizzppc060update 233MHZ' |

For some reason my multi-Rom changer with 3.1, 3.0, 3.1.4 & DiagROM saved the day here. On 3.1 ROM no dice, wouldn’t bypass the card with “2” or “S” pressed and held down. On 3.1.4 it will boot regardless. Tried a few times with the blizz060Update FORCE but would complain the card was being seen but no MHz. So tried: blizz060Update 240MHZ FORCE It looked like it was doing the same, then to my amazement saw; Firmware unlocked Stage A . Stage B .. Then when it got to Stage C my heart sank as it stayed there doing nothing. So left it and after 15 minutes it very slowly went through Stage C. Card is now working again. Luckily I remembered the MHZ of the card originally. Didn’t realise the update command catered for the MHZ switch As it’s not documented anywhere. |

Glad it's all worked out.
It's not documented in the flash archives but it was often suggested when troubleshooting flash update problems in the early ppc days when the cards just came out. Last edited by Mad-Matt; 29 July 2021 at 00:47. |

Got 2 more cards to fathom out before sending them off to stanchu to be looked at. 1)… black screen, looks like a oscillator fault 2).. working card but corrupting Chip RAM (not fast RAM) at random points. Could be a PPC fault as the card really over heats. |
