Only one instance of WinUAE at a time
Hi,
When I minimize the active window and the taskbar button is hidden and minimize when focus is lost is ticked I tend to forget WinUAE is still running (I know I can be really forgetful sometimes ). Could it be possible to add a tick box to allow or prevent other instances of the GUI to be present in memory (launching of 2 or more instances of the emulator = optional, default behavior would be only one instance at a time) when the shortcut is clicked again ? Apparently, that common feature among Windows software bearing a GUI wasn't previously requested. Last edited by NewDeli; 30 April 2010 at 06:40. |

Actually this was implemented long time ago but later it was removed because of user requests
Anyway, this is not good enough reason for GUI option. |

eh... who spoke about a GUI tick box ? It could be an undocumented feature, with command line option (e.q. "NewGui=0" set in the shortcut). Ideally, another option could be set to prevent starting emulation twice (e.g. NewGui=1, NewAmiga=0), so one could fiddle with GUI settings while the emulation had started, but be prevented to actually start a new instance of the emulator.

Btw : If you don't doubleclick a config or another associated file type the GUI starts without launching the emulation. |
