hmm, done so - GamePorts Port1 and Port2 both "none"
yellow cross is now moving. but still have the reset loop.

I'm using Quickstart A500 Rom 1.3 ECS Agnus 512/512 NTSC.

and it still says "Turn on Laserplayer" - then it resets :/

just a little bit, almost there

ALG American Laserdisk Game Setup Configuration for winuae:

Gallaghers Gallery v2.1 - use the video file by earok
download latest winuae.7z.
you also need the alg.zip from the zone - those are the extended rom files (like those for arcadia emulation)
--> extract alg.zip into your winuae kickstart/expansion rom folder - next do: Paths --> Rescan ROMs

1) Quickstart A500 1.3 ROM ECS Agnus 512 Chip / 512 Slow fast - NTSC
ROM: --> select "Extended Rom" --> American Laser Games Gallagher's Gallery v2.1 (256k)

2) Chipset: enable Genlock Connected [x] --> American Laserdisk Games and choose the videofile by earok.
--> if you get a blue screen instead of the video, then something is wrong with the videofile
--> or missing/wrong video codec (K-Lite Codec Pack may fix this)
enable NTSC [x]

3) GamePorts: Port1: none Port2: none

4) Input: remap Configuration #1 - Mouse
X Axis - Lightpen Horizontal
Y Axis - Lightpen Vertical
Button 1 - ALG Right Trigger

--> you should see a yellow cross which you can move around, if this is working.
--> if you dont see the yellow crosshair, remap the second mouse entry (eg. Logitech mouse / Windows Mouse) if you have a 2nd listed

5) Input: remap Configuration #1 - Keyboard
F1 - ALG Service
F2 - ALG Right Start
F3 - ALG Right Coin
F4 - ALG Right Holster

--> if none of the maped keys work, just try with your 2nd keyboard entry (eg. Logitech Keyboard / Winuae Keyboard)

6) if game starts push F3 (inserts Coin) - and watch what happens.
next push F2 to choose a subgame.
F1 brings up the game service menu - here you can calibrate the Lightpen pointer.
F4 will "Reload" the gun of the 1st player - some games will use this.

"ALG Right" values are for 1st player, "ALG Left" for the 2nd player

yep, it's fixed, changed my guide above

#1) the pointer and the target are a bit off, is it just me?
green-ish sphere is the impact-spot close to the lightpen crosshair.

Service mode has calibration. But until NVRAM is saved, you need to do it after every boot..

ah, ok. np.

#1) just tested this, calibration works

#2) just testing some other games, "ALG Right Holster" is used to reload the gun of 1st player,
just added to my guide above.
American Laser Games Fast Draw Showdown v1.31 (256k) is using vertical display.
we need the video files for each game, makes no sense without them

Emufan first thanks for the config settings.

But my config doesn't work. It hangs after about 30 seconds of video playing.

Do I post my config or do you post yours? Maybe it can be I chose a bad rom or something.

Thats the end of video file, I guess it is truncated or something. (Intro sequence is the very last piece).

EDIT: It does not prevent game play.

No, that's not the end yet. I said 30 seconds but it must be 10 seconds.

Edit: Sorry Toni I see what you mean and you were right like always, it must be truncated or something as you say.

I renamed one of the bins to use as rom. Maybe not the right one, or maybe my config.

your Gallaghers Gallery has the same checksum as my rom.
but you are using kickstart 1.3 (a3000) - do you have the a500 1.3 rom?

try to insert some more coins (F3), when game hangs try F2 again. maybe that will help.

the video playing is done using windows video codecs ( toni may correct me here).
so maybe you dont have the required video codec for this avi file.

just open the avi file in you prefered video/movie player and test, if you can skip/seek
forward/backward and if it plays after 30 seconds. total playtime is 27mins and some seconds.

Yes, I saw that about the rom. I must check if I've got it, not in my roms for WinUAE.

Edit: I've tried now with Kickstart 1.3 (34.5) (A500-A2500-A3000-CDTV) (Commodore) (1987) and it crashes the same.

But if I use F3 then it starts.

I don't get the yellow cross, so maybe I used bad settings about my mice. I'll see tomorrow.

I added video player status logging. "VIDEOGRAB EVENT X Y Z" will be logged when something changes (starts, ends, pause, some error etc..)

00000001 = end of video.

Hey... I've just tried the video on Windows. The video (the game) starts with the latest part of the Avi file... and it isn't complete. It finishes where my config crashes-.

i have 2 entries for "mouse" ( "Windows Mouse" and my "Logitech Mouse" ) in Input configuration - i configured my "Logitech mouse".

Yep, it's surely that about the mice. But see what I edited. My video finishes on windows where it's crashing on WinUAE. The video isn't complete at least here.

Do you watch all the starting video or do you insert coins before?

Edit: Ok, I will download it again.

Edit2: While I'm downloading... I've got Mad Dog for my Mega-CD and I like it, it will be fine to emulate it here too.

you dont have to watch the video - just insert some coins and start the game.
as soon as you see game graphics, just push F3 and insert coins, a counter will display the amount of coins.
next just push F2 and the game will start - you should see some kind of menu (Gallaghers Gallery),
with 4 possible game frames. just choose one.

#1) i've redownloaded earok's video and it does work, no freezing, no problems,
