Toy Story on Megadrive playing Amiga module

So if you've seen this video by Travellers Tales Jon Burton on Youtube...

[ Show youtube player ]

You'll know that they managed to get the Megadrive to play an Amiga module, albeit a bit muffled for the title music for Toy Story.

So, I got hold of the Megadrive ROM file and ripped the module out and tested it on Amiga, and it 100% plays as it should.

I've uploaded it to the zone, file is MOD.TOY3

And if you start the module from Position 13 in Protracker, you get to hear "You got a friend in me" rendition which presumably is played in the game for something else.

Did it for curiosities sake

Hi Galahad,

Nice finding really. Was this the only module in the rom?

OK, it seems to have been composed by Allister Brimble btw.

Kind regards

Floppy disk You've got a friend in me

For those that just want to hear what the "You've got a friend in me" tune sounds like without having to fire up the Amiga (or emulator), I've uploaded the Protracker tune to Youtube.

The credits say it was "Implemented" by Allister Brimble rather than composed presumably because the music was composed by the original film musicians?

Correct, that's "Strange Things" by Mr. "Short People" himself, Randy Newman. Nice rendition!
