Send keypresses from external program to WinUAE?

Hello,

Im trying to write a windows program that sends keypresses to a game in WinUAE (Police Quest in this case).

The goal is ofc to be able to macro certain repetative actions and create grahpical buttons for actions in the game.

My software works with any other program in windows but not with WinUAE, which suggests it has something to do with how WinUAE recieves and processes keypresses from the keyboard / mouse.

Any1 tried this or have some idea what the problem is?

WinUAE uses rawinput which does not appear to be compatible with most key injection methods. (Only rawinput allows to use all keys and multiple keyboards)

It is also possible injected keys go to "WinUAE null keyboard" input device (Virtual device that collects all keyboard events that don't have any physical source device information)

Open Input panel, set mode to configuration#1, map for example 'A' to Amiga keyboard 'A' and then inject 'A'. Does this fix it?

No that didnt work. The strange thing is that when we activate Windows Null keyboard all the buttons work even though we dont remap them.
