block zero write failed ?

hi guys,

Trying too prep a cf card in winuae but when i come too save changes it cant write too card ?

winuae message : block zero write failed

card is a sandisk ultra 2 compact flash 15mb/s 4 gb connected via usb reader have tried another reader with same issue.

i can read/write ok in windows and winuae detects and reads card ok have tried other cf cards no problems. card will also read/write ok via pcmcia on real amiga

have now ran out of ideas

The card is knackered. Return it if is new.

It usually means drive/card is not "blank enough" (Windows partitions etc..) and Windows refuses to overwrite it.

Use disk management or diskpart to erase it first.

tried diskpart with list volume
select volume
delete volume override
volume successfully deleted

but no physical change to volume

success !! thats done it

just put it through winuae to check ,partioned and formatted all good!!

thanks toni for taking the trouble too sort this out
