A new artificial life simulator for the Amiga

We have several good programs to play with cellular automata. I can list them:
1) Video Easel;
2) AXlife;
3) FastLife;
4) r-life.

Maybe I missed something? Are there other programs like these for the Amiga?

There is also a new program VieIII which is available on Aminet. However I have failed to run it. I installed it but when I run it I get "VieIII Program failed (error #8000000B). Wait for disk activity to finish." Maybe someone got some more than me? Any help is welcome. All instructions for VieIII are in French and I know only several words of it.

I omitted several too primitive programs like B-Life or Turbo-life on my list.

This post is about Xlife-8 for the Amiga. Xlife-8 is available on Aminet. There is also a youtube video - [ Show youtube player ] - for it and a site which contains screenshots. All other simulators use too much black and gray colors but Xlife-8, on the contrary, uses bright and "merry" colors. It is quite fast, provides means for constructing new patterns, has a large pattern library, and has also many other useful features.

Maybe Xlife-8 is the best way to start playing with cellular automata on the Amiga and maybe especially for children.

I initially posted this as a news topic several days ago. I received a message that my post should wait until a moderator checks it. So I have a question. How long does a moderator usually take this check? I also wonder if the post is canceled, will the sender be notified about it?

There is one in beyond the dark (BTD) on Aminet. I know there were options for it.

No comment about the lack of admin taking place by the current GMods since I left the team.

A man reported that LHA.RUN can't unpack the archive. Sorry I used LHA on my host machine. I were developing this program under FS-UAE. So please use xadmaster to unpack the archive.
I can suggest the next steps for an Xlife-8 installation:
Code:
makedir DIR
copy Xlife-8.lha DIR
assign XLF: DIR
xadUnFile xlife-8.lha DIR
Then you can run it from WB or CLI. Just chose a proper icon or
Code:
cd DIR/Xlife-8
xlife-menu
Any feedback is welcome.
