Also link to the latest gameplay with push anims added.

Those like myself who see colors differently than most - the bottom is better. I'm able to distinguish it much better. Chip's Challenge is still a brilliant game, and hope this one become the same. So far, game play looks sweet.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention. I just checked the gfx against a Color Blindness Simulator and yes the gray background is way better.

It mostly looks pretty decent (different shapes help a lot), just the Blueblind/Tritanopia looks a bit harsh.

I already have a few extra tilesets in the works and will check all of them as well.

I enjoy color a lot, but some..color combinations are very hard to deal with. There are some Amiga games I enjoy, but I struggle to see them as they're supposed to be seen. I've not been a fan of the label "Color Blind" since I (we) do see colors, just not the same. So the "blind" part has always been a funny inaccurate description to me. Often tell people, "I'm not blind...I do see them." Interestingly, others who have this color difference have appreciated the statement. Anyway, I get your meaning and that's great. Thumbs up!

Also which of the colors works best for the highlight of the menu font?
I think the second version is far more legible than the first

Same for me. As long as there are patterns on the items, it's ok though. There are some games, I can not play because of that. Some arcade where you had to shoot baloons (or such) and they stick together. When there are more then three of the same color they vanish. Or Klaxx is also impossible, so I'm always happy when game designers take this into account.

@AC/DC HACKER!

Didn't mean be insensitive. That was just the name of the website I used to check. It's a weird term I agree.

We're close to finishing. Just more levels and high-score. There're still probably some small, gfx glitches lurking here and there but nothing major that would affect the game play.

The game will be freely available. We're thinking of extra tile-sets, backgrounds and levels in exchange for a small donation but that's it.

Depending on the feedback and how the game will be received, we might seek some "proper" way of publishing the game but I would like to change a lot about the looks and design if it comes to that.

The next game we'll be working on should end up with a commercial release.

The 64 colors is really just EHB. Very tricky to make anything look good in it

Beautiful artwork!

Probably too late but any chance for a two player or multiplayer mode like Bomberman or MP Tetris?

Even null modem support would be cool for competitive mode.

A Demo/Beta is out for you to enjoy!
PAL only I'm afraid. OCS and 0,5MB of ram.
Run the game by clicking the icon.

Chips by "On IT!" Games

A re-imagining of a game by Dr Hirudo, Chips is a challenging puzzler where you're trying to piece together a working Amiga computer by combining chips scattered all over the main board.

Controls:
Joystick/Arrow Keys to Move / Navigate Menus
Fire/Enter to Punch / Select
ESC to Show in-game menu / Speed up score bonus

By standing next to a chip you can press Punch to send it flying in a straight line across the main board. Hitting a matching one will make it disappear. St oping when finding a different one in its path. Look out! Chips (just like you) can move through the edges and reappear on the other side. If there's nothing in its path you'll get zapped! When the last two matching chips collide they change into a custom chip. You then have to combine them in a similar way to get a working Amiga.

Here's a playthrough of a level to give you an idea how to play. Could not get the mic to work :/

Enjoy!

The game is free.

I have the feeling we should do an NTSC version of Chips too with of course different puzzles, how complicated that might be?
