No, this is not only colours problem. This intro has animations too. I dont see reason for colouring black-white intro. Full version is much better. This is for Deluxe Edition. For normal version you have black-white intro. Only displaying time must be a few shortened, for correct sync with Ron Klaren music. Also optionally releasing Nova bomb under second fire button can be good enhacement for Deluxe Edition.

For ByteKiller (If i remember right packer used for packing Battle Squadron data) is not enough. For ZX0 or Arj7, i dont think it can be problem.

Hi Pascal

THAT´s pretty cool !

I still wonder, if one day, the 50 Takes of Animation Intro will ever surface. (and if the water in level 1 will ever be fixed hehe)

Greetings and BIG Thanks Pascal

But back to the Battle Squadron Intro .....

I think they had to cut it for the Final for "Space" reasons...; obviously ( same as agony

The "Final Intro" is clearly a cut down version of the "Full Intro". (graphics AND story)

I would not mind the Original Intro, but it would need some kickass music to go along with it..... (hoffman )

In any case, i always like Battle Squadron very much and to find this intro after all this years is pretty sweet !!

It (no space) can be right for Battle Squadron. But not for Agony game. Psygnosis for almost all Amiga games created/added intro disk. No intro disk for Agony is strange.

Yes Don, it is indeed strange.

Maybe they didnt want to ship 4 disks ? or even 5 ?
More Disks, more costs ... (just a thought...)

I dont know.. but Psygnosis in those days where known for there intros; to set the mood and all that good stuff ...;
And even stranger is, that the rolling demo was mentioning the outstanding intro sequence...

[ Show youtube player ]

even some magazine talked about that..(if my memory smurfs me right)
but not a single screenshot was ever shown..

Such a strange thing ... still, to this day, i wonder...What happend ???

PS: When i saw this Demo from Alactraz & TRSI back then,
i envisioned how the last scene in the Agony Intro might have looked like.

Thanks Rygar !

A very interesting read

https://www.francksauer.com/index.ph...ublished-games

....about the development of Agony and the reason for not including the Intro..

It all came down to "Disk-Costs".

Bummer!

Perhaps main problem will be integration Ron Klaren music with animated colour intro.
Because no music intro will be not good enough.
But perhaps Ross or h0ffman can made Battle Squadron deluxe edition on 1 disk.
Hi Don, I think the separate intro version, although colorful, is not so great (and yes, music could help..).
Not that it's bad or anything, it's just that it doesn't convey the 'grandeur' that the game has.
And for some reason I always found the grayscale version integrated into the game to be way better artistically.

I'm for not touching anything in the original Battle Squadron disk, it's perfect the way it is

Me too.

The only thing I've ever wished for was perhaps a CDTV/CD32 version with optional alternative CDDA music because so many people (including the original composer) have remixed the OST.
