Question Is there a site (with pics) or guide of how to install a coin battery on the A4000D?

Hi!
as topic says, I have 2 A4000D , that I want to install coin batteries too, is there a guide somewhere (prefferably with pics!) of how to do it?
thanx for any info!

There should be three pins. Two on one side, one on the other side. That lone one should be the -. Of the other two, one is +, the other is self destruct. Be sure to mount your new csppc to the fast slot for a nice fireworks show before you try

nice pics, but how have u connected the pins to the coin battery holder?
u used only the 2 on the left side (and ignored the signle right one?) and on the upper one u put a diode too?

two pins on the left are connected on board, so one can be free.
diode is soldered on "spring" contact directly, original contact was cutted and isolated from under (as it was in wrong place)

and it has some color stripes on one end, do they need be closer to the battery of the mobo? I think the battery right?

Any silicon diode will do (forget special stuff like germanium). Stripe goes towards motherboard. (look at lithbatt.lha linked above for an illustration)

i can only recommend to measude voltage diferencies if you have some spare diodes, as lower=better. Some diodes have really big voltage decrease. 2.8V will work, but 2.7V or lower is sometimes too low for clock circuit (remember originally there was 3.6V battery (3x1.2V))

damn! my mobo has the alone pin OK, and the "free pin" of Chain's drawing... and the previous owner had there a set of external rechargable phone batteries... 3x1.2v if I remember correctly...
