1.5 GB of z3-fast ram
Hi!
I'm using WinUAE 1.6.1, and in my configuration I've selected 1.5 GB of z3-fast ram, but when I boot into AmigaOS I see I have just about 600 MB of ram; I open WinUAE configuration panel and I see that it switched to less z3-fast memory, tipically 768 MB. I suppose that's because WinUAE didn't found a chunk of memory big enough? What is strange to me is that it used to work some time ago, and I didn't realize what happened in between... anybody has any idea? I run WinUAE on Vista, with 3GB of ram; when I start WinUAE I have something like 1.9GB of ram free... Thanks! ![]() Pyper |

It means there is not enough contiguous virtual addres space. Each process has 2G of user space virtual address space and everything must fit in it. (including program itself, all its data structures, other DLLs etc..)
1.5G is possible in theory but practically 1G is highest possible. 64-bit version would allow full 2G ![]() |
