Just describe it honestly and put lots of pics, the A600 will speak for it's self if it's like new

This is actually true. I once had an A1200 that wasn't turned on for many many years, and it looked fine... After some weeks of use, it started to leak!

Sorry but I find it very difficult to believe that anyone would spend hundreds of pounds on a computer, and then not set it up because connecting a cable into the TV seemed too difficult.

Why did you not turn it on? I don't get this.
Test it as working. Danger of capacitor leaking/failure is too high on things "put away and never turned on"

A collector od NOS items normally prefers that they have not been used, that includes even powering on to test.

The unit looks really nice, it's a shame about the condition of the box, in my eyes this will rule out collectors anyway.

Good luck with your sale, I'd like a new case for my re-capped A600 so maybe if the price stays resonable you'll have a potential customer here.

But there is absolutely no way the seller can attest that this item has never been used unless he bought it from the stores back in 1992 and kept it unused since. Saying it's never been used is basically lying.

Also as you say the box is screwed, it actually shows water damage, so who can tell how safe this Amiga was while in storage?

Also there are more signs to this being used, packs of disks that NEVER came with an A600, like the Award Winners Compilation disks, Miracle Piano Keboard manuals but no Miracle PIano in sight, etc.

One more thing, 15 years ago a computer like this would be hardly something you buy and forget about, specially since it's not a cheap item.

A working Amiga would have a lot more value, since it is in such a great cosmetic shape.

Computer looks in very nice cosmetic condition. It will need to be opened up for those that would want to use it as you don't want the risk of capacitor leakage. It should fetch a nice price as the snipers start the bidding war in the dying seconds of the auction (There's an app for that

Not in the Uk though. By 1999 (assuming it was 15 years ago) it would have been virtually worthless

Anyway, it does look in really nice condition

I think that was about right tbh, if the packaging was mint it could have gone quad on that but with the box in poor shape it was never going to appeal to a hard core collector, more likely someone who wants to refurbish their own machine.

Yep if the box was mint and the cables were still factory tied I would have happily paid 3x that winning bid for it.

@ Akira - you just have to accept that NOS collectors have different opinions and desires to Amiga users.

I do understand NOS, but my point is that it is impossible to ascertain this unit is NOS. I actually strongly believe it isn't.

Obviously there's no way of proving anything has never been used before if it is not factory sealed, but as a collector of NOS consoles/computers for many years there are many things that suggest whether one is unused or not. For a start the smell, obviously the condition, or as you can see in his photos the fact that the cables, although not tied, are still bent as if they have only just been unwrapped.
