Amiga characters as avatars
Several times, I've been searching for characters from Amiga games to use as avatars, but most of the times they're either very very low quality, tiny, or a part of a bigger image.
What I want is, for example, characters like Superfrog and Robocod (or James Pond in general) without logo or background. I suck at photoshop, so it's a bit of a problem to find images suitable as avatars. This isn't just a problem with Amiga characters, but also most "less popular" characters that aren't Sonic or Mario or Megaman. Some characters I'd like to see the way I described: Robocod Superfrog All the knights from Moonstone (black, red, green, blue and yellow), seperated of course Guybrush closeup (Amiga preferrably) Lemmings (Amiga) Anyone have something like this lying around? |

You can do it pixel by pixel even with MS Paint. If you want transparency paste your work into free IrfanView, save as GIF and choose "save transparent color" option.

TCD: unfortunately, those fall into the "tiny" catagory, plus there are two characters.
xpect: thank you, this is exactly the kind of avatar I was looking for. Great work! I suck dwarf cock when it comes to messing with anything to do with graphics, as I've never learned to be creative with computers past the regular catagorizing and tidying up my games folders. |

@StarEye
You suck WHAT? nm Reverse pixel art is the only possible way to do it and it's definitely not impossible, some members around here have had characters from amiga games/mags/box covers etc whipped out by myself, just ask Kitty, she'll tell you all about it Besides, you may suck at photoshopping, but it's quite easy with a screenshot, duplicate the layer and switch off the one underneath, set the eraser to pencil, set the size to correspond to the pixel size of the image and delete pixel by pixel where you think, it's that simple and because they were created this way it's not too hard to find the solid edges on most characters from a screenshot. Happy cutting |

This is the kind I'm looking for yes. Thank you, I'll save that one as well.
DemonHellraiser: "Your mother sucks dwarf cock" is a random insult from the game (and probably the books it's based on) The Witcher, so it was supposed to be a reference to that game. I'll try photoshopping at some point when I need it, but that Zool character was so great I don't really need anymore right now. But I will try in the future. bLAZER: The black backrgound kinda makes it look a little amateurish (no offence). But then again, I can see how that particular screenshot is difficult because of the plethora of detail. If I want one with a background, I've seen plenty around with a gradient black/purple fill, straight from the VGA version of the game probably. Zool perfectly depicts one of my hobbies, as well as represent my love for the Amiga, so it's kinda perfect for me. Despite not being the best game ever. |
