Old (80s) Triangle Intro/Demo?
Hi all - I tried this request on Usenet with limited success, and one of the members of CSAG suggested I try here, so here goes...
Apologies if you've seen this request there too. I'm looking for a particular intro that was published on one of a set of disks, possibly released by Def-Jam when they were in league with CCS. It's called the Triangle Demo, and unsurprisingly is by the group Triangle. Those of you that may remember it would recall a set of triangle shaped sprites which followed a triangluar path around the screen, rotating as they went, around a large grey triangle logo. There were the obligatory horizontal blue vertically scrolling copper bars in the background and scrolly text in a chunky chrome style at the bottom. It was packed onto a disk along with Hellfire Attack (helicopter game) and a copy of Ladybug (which was by E somebody, I don't know who. Also had the music in mod format to Blue Monday by New Order in the background). Anyhow, I am after that Triangle intro, or the music that accompanied it failing that. (The music was not Blue Monday, btw - that was the music I remember from Ladybug. The music I'm after was composed by a member of Triangle, AFAIK). Many Thanks, D. |

Is this is?
Sorry, but although that's close, it's not it. The copper bars in the background were Blue (0, 0, 15) to black, and 32 pixels high (If I recall correctly).
The sprites were small triangles (red outline, greyish white interior) that rotated horizontally as they followed a triangular path around the main triangle. I admit, I can see why that one could be mistaken for by my description :-) Thanks for trying anyway! D. |

How can yo remember which exact color the bars had, and how many pixels high they were?! You are a memory-machine |

Well, I'd propose him for the moderator of "Looking for a game name". Give him an offline version of HOL, and he'll learn it all by heart
(but don't let him out of the cage earlier, will ya ) |

Ezek Could have the musician - doesn't ring a bell though. The scroll text went on about how this paticular intro was made for a party in... sweden/netherlands or somewhere of that nature, and was done in collaboration with another group whose name escapes me atm.

Found!
Finally, after nearly four years of wondering if I was just plain mad, I've found the demo that I was after!
http://www.arabuusimiehet.com/break/...s.php?id=11395 At last! And I do have to say, if it weren't for this very board, I would never have found it. Thanks all! Edit: Would anyone happen to have a copy of this at all? I can't seem to find it! D. Last edited by Dunny; 04 July 2007 at 16:04. |

I had a look through my Tosec / Non-Tosec collection but unfortunately I don't have this... I also searched through the following latest Tosec dats for "Triange" and "Beastie Boys" but couldn't find the "Megaman's Hot Stuff Intro" or "Another Demo/Intro Compilation" respectively (though I did find others like Gigademo, Gigademo 2 and Gigademo 3): ... Commodore Amiga - Demos - Animations and Videos (TOSEC-v2006-06-25_CM).dat ... Commodore Amiga - Demos - Music (TOSEC-v2006-05-09_CM).dat ... Commodore Amiga - Demos - Packs (TOSEC-v2006-05-09_CM).dat ... Commodore Amiga - Demos - Slideshows (TOSEC-v2006-05-20_CM).dat ... Commodore Amiga - Demos - Various - [ADF] (TOSEC-v2006-05-20_CM).dat ... Commodore Amiga - Demos - Various - [EXE] (TOSEC-v2006-04-08_CM).dat Maybe this isn't in Tosecs... Anyway, bipstar is the man. Let's hope that he has this for you in his Tosec / Non Tosec collection |

Hopefully we can all come up with some suggestions concerning how to recover some data in your new thread. Of course it depends on how dead it is... |

Sorry to hear that, Bippy :-(
I've mailed the webmaster of the site where the demo screenshot is hosted, and asked him if he can help - though I'm not sure if he reads his emails anymore, it didn't bounce. Here's hoping... If anyone else can help, I shall be most grateful! D. |

While that specific disk isn't among my TOSEC stuff, a bunch of Triangle Demo packs are, of course I wouldn't have a clue if there's any chance it's on one of them, I'm just saying.
Here's what I got:
I know it's a long shot and it seems like they may all be too new, but then I don't know anything about this. If you're interested, I can upload them somewhere. |
