Why there are so few WHDLOAD installers nowadays?
I have a question....
And i hope some one can answer that... Why these days the number of new Whdload installers is getting lowered? and not many requests are fullfilled..... (btw SPEEDBALL 2... is at 98% from June 2006.....) Have the WHDLoad Developers started playing WOW?... I adore the WHDLOAD project and wouldnt like to see it getting abandoned... Cheers... Nicolas |

Well, I work on updates only if I'm unemployed, which is usually around summer. I can't speak for other guys, but I think few patch authors are retired already.

It could always be that there are less games to install now since so many are already done. Apart from some demos I haven't found much to install...

There are heaps still remaining, including some quite good/popular/successful ones. Eg. Ultima 3/4.

I would imagine most are at that time of life where, beer, girls, work and families take up most of their free time.
Give it a few years and the oldest of them will have sent their kids to uni and the slaves will flow once more. |

The only game I would love to see WhdLoad-ified is "Treasure Trap" - thats it.. my favorite iso3d retro-style game on miggy (favorite iso3d non-retro style is Cadaver, second favorite Darkmere ;-) ).
It has been on 50% for a while now, a year or so |

hello,
Maybe the fact that the status of actual whdoad install work (on the whdload site) are pratically all dated in 2006 and afraid a lot of whdload fan (like me). I would like to thanks to all whdload makers and for psygore for being active actually. some of the last installs on whdload site are fix made by codetapper, cfou or jotd (thanks to them). |

Anyway, you can't blame the WHD patchers for going through quiet periods......they have real lives of their own to lead. Inevitably such talented, creative people need to branch out into other projects too otherwise their enthusiasm for core projects becomes stifled. |
