We have reached the midpoint of the league. It's been an eclectic and fun mix of games so far. Keep 'em coming.

I'm posting this and the summer game a day early because I will be in the middle of nowhere and most likely without internet until Sunday evening. Good luck with any final attempts at Nicky Boom.

This vote ends at 23:59 (UK Time) on Saturday 25th June 2022.

Ideally we'd all play the same version and that would need to match the WHDload version. But no-one had anything to say about the WHDload. And it has been updated since that comp anyway. Also there are two WHDloads. The 1 disk and the 2 disk versions.

It's a bit messy but everyone was good about it in last Batman round despite this.

capehorn knew a lot and recommended a stable, less bugged, 2 disk adf version. We could use that and the 2 disk WHDload. Either try to work out if they are the same or not worry about it.

There was also talk of dumping a WHDload to adf, which is a good idea if anyone is able to do that.

I'm happy to muddle through it and just try to enjoy the game. Suggestions welcome.

And I'm not interested in milking for high scores. Just wanna finish the game. Anyone else can go for it of course.

On that thought. We could change the scoring to avoid most bug issues.
Final Score = (level reached x 200,000) - score.
That way the lowest score is best. No milking. A different quicker challenge for the top players.
If anyone gets endless extra lives (happens by dying and not losing a life) it will increase their score and they will do worse. However, everyone should play fair and not submit any scores like that as it can still give an advantage.
All we need from players is a screenshot at the start of the level.

I'm really not a fan of lowballing scores. For me is the antithesis of fun. I'd rather if there were slight injustices than this method.

Usually I'd agree with you. I much prefer playing normally. With Batman I don't think there's much opportunity to actively go for lower scores. If you don't kill most enemies on the platform levels you're gonna die (and anyone stuck on level 1 would be scored as normal anyway). Can't see much scope on car and flying levels. On the puzzle level you get less score by taking your time and thinking about it.

It's more about getting through the game without losing lives and guards against anyone exploiting bugs. Plus the best players don't have to play for twice as long dying on purpose to increase their score. That was the way to win the comp last time. Which I also find is no fun.

Will see what the overall opinion is.

Yes. Basically, anyone who can do it in one life will score low. And do the puzzle at the last second.
