Joystick on parallel port adapter: 2nd button support
Last evening I was fiddling with a joystick reading routine through the parallel port adapter.
No problem for my code, everything worked as it should. But when I tried to read the joy/pad second button it didn't work. I realize that there are no Amiga games that support it (until now..) but why not implement it? According to the scheme used in PPJoy, the reading would take place on bits 12 (POUT) and 10 (~Ack): The reading for the second button of the 'third' joystick would be trivial, for that of the 'fourth' a bit complex due to the use of F in CIA-A. (or being tied to F makes it unusable?) Cheers. |

As usual: not going to happen without something that can be used to test the implementation. Preferably something that was made long time and was confirmed working with real hardware.

Absolutely understandable
From the first result from a fast googling Vesalia sell an adapter and claim that can also be used by PPJoy driver software. But the wiring of the 2nd button can be confirmed only by someone who bought it. It might be interesting for games with more than two players and then a WHDLoad patch for the second button. |
