Few anonymous users on, downloading fine.



If you are using filezilla, make sure to set it to only use one connection. more info on that in the first post in this thread.

Forgive the nooby question but when i Now try to ftp to the EAB server I only seem to get a very limited version- so Collection, GaeBase Amiga 2, Misc, non-TOSEC stuff etc - no TOSEC stuff or THe Zone etc etc.

Is there a new ftp address I need to use - possibly this new 'Turran' one?

I'm currently connecting in via the ftp:grandis.nu usename ftp password any.

I've blocked access to TOSEC and a few other things for the anonymous "ftp" user account as they are large and there are a lot of anonymous users who just download the whole FTP. When the TOSEC things are available via torrents and similar, I see no reason why anonymous users should grab them from us/me. They are still available for everyone from the google drive backup and from the search functions at grandis.nu/turransearch


However, in your case, this is easely solved. Just create your own account instead. Since you have more than 50 posts here on EAB and your last post is no older than 5 days old, you are eligable for your own account. With your own account, you'll see it all again and you get 2 logins to the FTP simultaniously instead of just one.


Please see the first post for instructions.


I might change the rules to open up for TOSEC and all the other things again, but then I'll have to put the speed limit back for the anonymous account instead...

Ahem, i've uploaded some rare Homebrews & non-officials from Epic /Alive Mediasoft /... If someone have their Front and Back Scans, i would happy, if someone uploaded them on the Amiga File Server. More to come (like graphics library CDs a bundle with more than 10 CDs, if someone interested)

Thanks for your archives, it's been a long time since there was a new vvarez CD. It's always a good raw material for my research
Although I personally prefer .bin/.cue disc images, it allows to identify damaged files and to repair some of them before extraction...

I corrected some DMS files in your archive:

Removed the TOSEC/TheZone/others restrictions from the anonymous "ftp" user again. It worked very nicely and, as I had hoped, severely lowered bandwidth use. But it did not feel right.

I'll leave it like this over Christmas at least for evaluation =)

Another raid array on the server is having problems. This does not affect the FTP in other ways than slowing the whole server down by a lot as it times out etc.

I'm restarting the server and will migrate the data from the error array to a working one. New disks ordered.

Edit: Files migrated and server coming back up. We're running a bit slower for the time being, but I'm pretty sure it wont be noticed on your end unless you are on 10GBit internet =)

Edit2: Ok, so its noticeable when browsing around that its slower. This is due to the disk checking I'm running. We'll have to make due until the new disks arrive.
