Problem overriding base-dir via ~/Library/Preferences/fs-uae/base-dir on macOS
Hi everyone!
I'm new with the FS-UAE on a Mac. I currently have the launcher 3.1.30 installed. It's going wonderfully. First of all thanks for the great software! I have a minor issue: The launcher created two directories for me: ~/FS-UAE and ~/Documents/FS-UAE. Most of the files are in the first directory, where I also put my Kickstart ROMs and ADFs. The launcher writes logs in the second directory, but nothing else is there. It saves configurations in the first directory. I don't really care where everything is, but I would prefer I only have one of these directories. How do I do that? I wouldn't be aware that I would have configured anything on the directories myself ... In the settings there is "Directories", it is empty. There are three entries under "File Database": /Users/fu/FS-UAE /Users/fu/FS-UAE/Configurations and /Users/fu/FS-UAE/Kickstarts. I clicked "Reset to defaults" here, but that doesn't change anything. I tried to configure a directory in ~/Library/Preferences/fs-uae/base-dir (~/FS-UAE), but the launcher did not start at all. It probably doesn't work for me the way it says in the documentary. So I deleted that again. Last edited by -fun-; 17 November 2021 at 20:11. Reason: Deleted German text, fixed issues with automatic translation |

FS-UAE and the Launcher does support overrides in ~/Library/Preferences/fs-uae/base-dir, but:
- Using ~/ was not supported - The directory had to exist, or the Launcher would not start So it should have worked with full path to an existing directory. I've made available an update: 3.1.44 (https://fs-uae.net/download#macosx) - with the following changes: - Using the ~/ prefix is also supported now - The directory will be created if necessary Remember to write in English next time (The Launcher/FS-UAE shouldn't create both directories. I'll have to look further into that) |

Ah of course. I never _wrote_ Norwegian, and after a very long time there isn't much left of it anyway.
