Encrypted Text In Bubble Bobble?

Does anybody know if there is any meaning to the symbols in this bit from Bubble Bobble?

You'd think that the creators of Darius and Bubble Bobble would be a bit more confident!

ahhh so more or less its like the dialogue from starwars

"Luke, I am your father"

"It is your destiny. Join me, and we can rule the galaxy as father and son."

I remember the layout of the level ST Dragon, though I don't think that was the text I saw.

And well, even if it was just my memory acting up, self irony isn't that bad, and Bubble bobble wasn't a big hit at the conception of the game I guess.

There were more from the coin-op port.

*room with broken thunder potion with lightning bolts shooting everywhere*
"I enclosed these magical potions here, as these are my worst nightmares..."

*room with heart*
"If you want to get back your love of truth you must help each other until the last...."

The second basically means that Super Drunk/Grumple Grommit is weak against thunder bubbles, and there are potions in round 100 that give you that power, plus running shoes and orange candy.

The last one is hard to figure out for most. Basically it means if you want the true ending you have to play with both players until the end of the game when you trap Super Drunk in a bubble and pop it.

As far as the "not a big hit".. that's not exactly true. Despite the cutesy graphics I remember reading it WAS a huge hit. Especially since the special codes (not just the easily-found "Super Game" code) were like any other code back in '85/'86: highly valuable.
