Could be it's a fan, but a jobsworth going for the first stock image available is also a possibility. Looking at the caption, it should really be NEC, Sharp, or some other appropriate machine.

Given the publication's primary market is the UK, where the A500 was pretty widely known, it would make more sense to use that as a familiarity / nostalgia hook than some random forgettable beige / industrial box or a primarily Japanese machine that 99% of the population wouldn't recognise.

Given that Future Publishing (publishers of one of the biggest Amiga magazines in the UK) are credited with the photo, and that it doesn't show up immediately on generic "floppy disk" stock image searches, it seems quite likely that it was selected by someone with at least some knowledge of the Amiga.

Given it's the UK I am surprised it isn't an Amstrad PC1512. They sold millions a year lol probably just another 2 second google search like the piss poor BBC 40th Anniversary 3-4 minute clip on Newsnight (that had a 64X with 5 function keys and a Linux motherboard inside + VICE Doh!!!)
