Question Keyboard remapping for Super keys, not working

Hi there guys.

Can you help with a obscure problem please.

Issue:
I want to be able to remap the Super key and the menu/paste key on my physical keyboard
to become the left and right Amiga keys respectively.

I'm using an ergonomic keyboard and they bottom layer looks like this -
Ctrl | Super key | Alt | Space bar | Alt-gr | menu/paste key | Ctrl

Currently, when I press the super key I brings up the KDE main menu
(which I want when I'm using my host OS - but not when I'm using the emulator).

Is there any way to get the Super key (and the menu/paste key) to act like
Amiga Keys ?

Troubleshooting:
1. I've read through the keyboard short cut info on the FS-UAE webpage

2. I've tried to remap them using the advanced options screen on FS-UAE settings
page as follows:

keyboard_key_lsuper = AMIGA_LEFT
keyboard_key_rsuper = AMIGA_RIGHT

But it makes no difference, pressing the left super key, brings up the KDE
main menu.

Questions:

1. Is there a way to disable this behavior (only when using the emulator) ?

2. Is there any way to get the Super key (and the menu/paste key) to act like Amiga Keys ?

TIA for any help or advice.

Useful Details:
FS-UAE version: 3.1.67
OS: Linux (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS)
KDE version: 5.24.7
Kernel: 6.2.0-36-generic (64-bit)

Hi Noob-tech-ninja
For the left Amiga Key you would put this in your config:

keyboard_key_lsuper = action_key_amiga_left

However, I have no idea what you would use for your "menu/paste key".
If you used the Right Alt key it would be:

keyboard_key_ralt = action_key_amiga_right

Hope this helps.

As Gnome use the super key, you can't use it for emulation... but in a terminal window, you can check this

gsettings get org.gnome.mutter overlay-key
'Super_L'

gsettings set org.gnome.mutter overlay-key ''

gsettings get org.gnome.mutter overlay-key
''

Now you can use the super key in the emulation...

@wiisoldier

Thanks very much for the clarification on the string needed for the config file.

This has mostly worked.

Using the following code =
Code:
keyboard_key_menu = action_key_amiga_right
This allows me to use the menu key for the right Amiga key

But using -
Code:
keyboard_key_lsuper = action_key_amiga_left
I still cannot get the super key to work as my left Amiga key.

However I strongly suspect that this is due to KDE / Plasma overriding the emulators
keybindings / keyboard shortcuts.

I'll have another tinker and see if I can get FS-UAE to let me use the left super key as I want to.

Thanks again.
