iBrowse "suspicious secure connection"

Its driving me mad, every time I load a https page I get this error and I have to click proceed, is there any way I can stop it? I used iBrowse on pimiga before and never got this error, but on my 3.1 install its a constant annoyance.

Please help

And your Locale timezone settings?

I tend to agree that it is a time/date issue or improper installation (check that you have AmiSSL installed in a single location and that the contents of AmiSSL:Certs matches the Certs for in the AmiSSL 4.7).

If it only happens on certain websites, it is possible the site is using an expired or invalid certificate. The error message should give more information on that.

After installing the latest versions of AmiSSL and iBrowse some months back I was having all sorts problems of the same nature. Spent quit some time going thru everything and couldn't track down the problem.... till I read this! My date/time was off by 4 years! And I'm very familiar with the date/time problem! Never thought to check it as I don't have the clock displayed at startup. Problem solved! So, glad I ran into this thread!

BTW, anyone else notice that the batteries don't last for sh!t in these ACA cards?

Yes, there will be all sorts of problems with any browser if the date/time is not correct. Cookies and cache are two others that spring to mind, in addition to certification verification. IBrowse never used to care about failed certificate verifications, silently ignoring them, but this was changed for IBrowse 2.5. All the major browsers will moan if certificate verification fails, which can sometimes happen also when websites forget to update theirs or they misconfigure something.

If your Amiga is internet connected you could synchronize your Amiga system date and time with internet based time servers using either NTP or SNTP after your TCP/IP stack has initialised and before you start using iBrowse.

There are several NTP/SNTP utilities available on Aminet (e.g. https://aminet.net/package/comm/net/sntp).

Hopefully it is, due to iBrowse being rather useless otherwise.
