T2002 - New Turrican Clone

Just found another Turrican clone called T2002.

You can find it at
http://www.pekarosoftware.de/

It uses the original Turrican 2 music and levels (but I think some of the music is on the wrong level), but it's nice to see anyway.

You might also want to check out Hurrican at http://www.poke53280.de/download/download.php?id=1, but I think thats already been mentioned in another thread...

EDIT: Updated the URL since this thread has become current again....

Finally got around to checking this. Never completed the first level but it reminds me a lot of the first level of Turrican 2, at least up to a point. Whereafter it seems to be either other levels merged with it or something else.

You and Akira got that right. Among other things. Still it's a nice piece of fan work.

Remakes and Clones

None of them beat the original I have to agree with Akira with his saying

Well I llok at it this way
Sure Turrican was good, Turrican II was better and Turrican III was ok
You've played them a million times already
The ppl spend time on a free game that is in the same spirit, whats the deal?
I like it and hope for more stuff like this

I certainly agree this does NOT replace the real Turrican games...

My original post about it using the same levels was kinda unnaccurate.... Once you get a little further you see only the first part of level 1 is same the same as the Turrican 2 level 1. The rest seems to be new levels with a mix of Turrican 1 & 2 themes. Only now the levels HUGE (and the 1UP's are a little sparse).
(Also you might notice that we can no longer destroy the first exit sign which directs you into the waterfall )

I think Ash has the right approach. Turrican should never die, but some new approaches once in a while can be refreshing to see...... and since it has the original music its gotta be worth playing just to hear that again

The readme from T2002 says:

Quote:
Graphics and sounds of the Amiga versions and the MSDOS version
Umm, MSDOS version of Turrican?

I imagine that MSDOS games from that era are not worth finding... but anyway, is this around anywhere?

Try the underdogs.

And as for the sparse 1ups. I thought there were a bucketload compared to the original turrican 2.

Really? I guess one of us is missing some secret areas in one of the games..... since I've only played T2002 about 5 times it's probably me!
