Found various, possibly previously unavailable PD disks, demo, sound and game packs.
Hi,
I went through some disk boxes yesterday and found a big bunch of disks which I think might not be in circulation. At least a Google search on the names didn't return anything. Would these kind of disks be of any interest to people and where should I post/upload them? Are there any sites that would collect such material? I'd like to contribute them to the online community before the disks stop functioning as some of them already made my disk drive scream. Some of the titles that I can remember were - Colombia PD collection disks 1-7 (these consisted of various other PD disks which I've never heard of before, like Finn Fashion Game Disk 3 & 4). Anyone with more info on these? - Game packs compiled by presumably Finnish guys in 1988. These included cracked games, tools and demos. - Avesoft (a finnish PD distributor) PD collections/disks with a lot of different material. - A bunch of game packs released by cracking groups. |

That sounds very interesting mk1 You could upload them to Magix FTP (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=38697) for a start and I'm sure some TOSEC renamers will have a look at them

Ok, I'll do that. Just that it'll take a while to get them from the actual disks to the PC. I wonder what would be the best way.. Probably setting up my A1200, making the ADFs into its hard drive and then attaching that to the PC..

If you have no CF card adaptor for your A1200, that sounds like the best plan to transfer the disk images |

I don't think I have a CF card reader in my PC or my MacBook Pro (it's not ExpressCard 34 compatible?)
I'll come up with a more complete list of the disks as I get home from work. |

Right, so here's a list of the disks and their contents. If some kind soul would check around a bit so that I don't transfer disks that are already in circulation.. I can give more detailed program listnings upon request. If anything is considered "hot"/rare or lost stuff I'd be more than happy to transfer the images.

Argh! I was afraid someone would say that..
I noticed at least some of the demo collections were listed on BitFellas so I think I'll leave them out. |

It's not the uploading but making the ADFs that's time consuming. Oh well, I'll try to transfer them during the weekend.

Didn't get very far with this.. I haven't used my A1200 for a few years and now that I boot it up with any hard drive connected it gives me a blue screen at the boot and then goes black. Boots fine without a hard drive, but won't boot even if the hard drive doesn't get any power. Something's screwed up with the IDE port? Any suggestions?

It was one great underestimated copier of it's time. It copied some bunch of disks x-copy couldn't handle! So please upload this collection, I'm looking forward to help you tranfer these disks. You could use floppyflux from aminet, but if hd fails, maybe usage of a second disk drive, or ramdisk or even a pcmcia card could do the trick. |
