Seems it's still Gayle related. But since I have an A508 myself interested to know if this hack will boot the CF card or not from a cold start.

I didn't do anything special with my HC508 + SCSI modded 1.3 kickstart. I just took the patch from aminet, and it just worked.

Yep, no fuss. I also did the A3000 1.3 patches manually with a hex editor after using the patch file from the package in the previous message.
I didn't try the ROM in an A600 or A1200, perhaps one day. The HC508 booted up nicely from CF with it in any case. |

I'm not aware of the "HC508", but the Kipper built A504 /A508 boards dont boot on the original patched KS1.3 rom without a boot floppy.

I have an MKL IDE in one of my A500s so I'll try it on that too at some point.

In my Amiga 500 (rev. 6A) with IDE68K + RAM68K and MegaCHIP, the ONLY way to boot, without
floppy, is using a KS 1.3 with A10001986' patch (see http://www.clodai.it/amiga500_ks1.3_boot_ide68k.mp4). Thanks A10001986: you make my day ;-) |

Hmm, I never ended up trying my kickstart on the MKL adapter. Ah well, perhaps one of these days. :-)

Sorry to bring to life an old subject, but I am currently trying to do the exact same thing.
I recently bought one of MKL's 8MB + IDE boards, and after some initial problems (user errors!) I got it up and running. It's working fine in 3.1 but I can't get it to work in 1.3. I have tried a pre-patched kickstart and I patched one myself. Both will let hdtoolbox detect and partition the drives, but neither will boot or even mount the drives. It's as if they're not there. I find this a bit odd since hdtoolbox can see them. Anyone had the same experience? My version of the board is V425. |

Just an update and a confirmation that the 'kick13scsipatch.lha' from Aminet works with my A1000 + "classic 520" card with AmigaOS/Kick 1.3.
As somewhere noted (in some other thread), the scsi.device extracted with SplitROM from an 3.1 a1200/a600 ROM does not work with gpatch. Always got "No matching patch" (or so). However, an scsi.device extracted with 'getSCSI11' works with gpatch. So that required (me) to create an emulation with UAE, load the getscsi on there and use it in the emu to get an scsi.device.
