That's how they were referred to in the UK. They crop up every now and again on eBay, but don't seem to be that popular these days. If you can find an auction with a low starting price you could snap up a bargain... otherwise you'll see them listed for £60 by those two eBay muppets we all know and *cough* love.

It's the Competition Pro Star. There were mini versions too. Never liked the mini ones, broke too easily. But the normale CP Star is one of the best in the CP series. Still have one.

The best comparison of all the old school joysticks I've ever come across is over at 2600 Connection. They cover quite a few of the Comp Pro variations.

I have got one of these, unfortunately one of the micro switches has failed. I have taken the cord off and have it on my shelf as a nice retro ornament.

The Best Joystick? I'd hate to see what they'd consider the worst one to be.

I had a look yesterday , found a Competition Pro , but it looks like I threw the mini out , it had a duff microswitch , which I could have fixed but never got around to it.
I've managed to get a small digital microswitch stick from somewhere .. Ahh , CPC , anyway , I'm going to make a small case for it ! But if anyone has a Competition Pro Mini they want to sell , let me know ! |
