TF330 + Edu Arana Panther Double IDE

Hi,

I've bought a Panther double IDE from arananet to be able to put a CF card and a SD card in my CD32 + TF330

https://www.arananet.net/pedidos/pro...or-tf328-or-sx

The purpose of this is to have the CF "resident" and a removable SD card included in the riser (like 32bits on youtube has done )

I'm able to boot on the SD card or the CF with the jumper of the panther card.

As there can't be two master and the SD to ide is only master, i put the sdcard master and the CF slave, that's what i want no problem.

So i boot on the SDcard but i can't see the CF partitions.
If i run HDtoolbox, it see the SDcard and the CF, and i'm able to install and partition the CF, but the partition never appears in Workbench.

How can i do to see the SD & the CF partitions ?
Edu say some use IDEfix but i can see what to do

Any idea ?

Okay so what Filesystem are you using? How have you got HDToolBox to read in the SD and CF cards? Do the parameters match the SD Card and CF card sizes?
Are you using the correct MAX Transfer speed setting etc?

You need to provide enough information as possible

I use 3.1.4 with PFS 19.2 HDtoolbox read Sd & CF on real hardware with scsi.device. The max transfer speed is set OK. I'm able to boot from SD or CF but i can't see the partitions of CF when i boot from SD ( Sd is master & CF is slave, same OS & filesystem on SD & CF )

Have had something similar with PFS 3 version 18.5 in the past. Try lowering the buffers on the CF card and increasing the Filesystem block size from 512K to 1024K

What makes are your cards? As some CF cards can be problematic.

I take it you setup and booted up the SD card first then added in the CF card second? Then when the CF card setup you rebooted and it came up uninitialised so it can be formatted?

I've tested 2 CF card. One Sandisk 32GB and one Noname 8Gb. Both works when they are master and alone.

I've setup the SD card first, then added the CF wich was already setup with filesystem and partitions. I can't see the partitions of the CF ( no NDOS partition, nothing ) in workbench. But if i use HDtoolbox i can setup the CF card, partition it, save and reboot but no NDOS partition appears. If i return to HDtoolbox after reboot, i can see my partitions are right and saved but i can't see them in workbench, no NDOS.
I'll try with HDinst tools.

Coud it be scsi.device related ? I use 43.45 version

Could it be that you have the same DHx numbers on both cards when you set them up?

No there is DH0 for SD and DH2 for CF

Perhaps a video can help to identify the problem :

I think i've found the answer, after formatting DH2: with format tool, i've seen it.
After reboot, the drive has disappeared, so i've mounted it and it's OK. I have to remount at each reboot and it works

It's just not automounting partition from the CF Card whenever i've set "automount" when partitionning

I think i have to create a DH2: in DEVS: for automounting the partition

That’s odd

Maybe a characteristic of the adapter?

Hope it works out for you
