Online PD Disk Catalogue
Hi everyone,
Does anyone have any “Online PD Disk Catalogue” disks? The disks came from UK public domain library “Online PD” and featured text listings of all PD disks they had available to purchase. The disks each featured a background .mod music, which was different with each edition (usually denoted by month/year) I have been unable to locate archives of any of the disks. Can you help? Thank you so much. |

Maybe helpful
I have an OnlinePD catalogue disk, HOWEVER, it has been written over. Is there any software to recover original data for Amiga? I no longer have a floppy disk drive (Gotek installed) so I can't check the disk, but if you think it can help I can post it to you and you can try to extract what you need. As you can see I live in Formby where OnlinePD was based, I knew Nik and Jed very well, but haven't seen them since the 90's. I will see if I can look Nik up he may still have some of the old archives. Will that help?

Hi @arniesack thank you. There isn't anything that I know of that can recover something that is written over. On a PC or Mac you can recover things which are "deleted" but not yet written over. I don't know about tools like this for Amiga.
It would be great if you could get in touch with Nik and Jed. There isn't much/any info about Online PD on the web. If they had an archive of catalogues in physical form, we could digitise them. If they have adf files, even better! Would love to hear their story. @superman thank you for the pointer! I'll have a look at what is there. |

There are tools. Quarterback Tools has some neat disk tools in it. But with a floppy disk, with such a small amount of space, and it being overwritten, its unlikely the old data can be restored. You might get a few fragments out of it, it depends how much data was added to the disk, or vene how many times its been overwritten.
Sending it to someone here with good disk salvaging knowledge is where you should post it. Thats certainly not me |

I have literally just found a 5 disk set in my stuff!
I have been insanely busy of late and have not been able to do anything retro related so trying to catch up with a bunch of stuff. I am going to attempt to image these disks during sunday, I hope they are in good enough shape to get 100% adf's. I will upload them soon as I am done. |

@ElectroBlaster that’s brilliant! Thank you for finding them and for taking the effort to update this thread. Look forward to booting them up when you image them.
