Word.

'Ere's a tape I did with an A1200, a Technosound Turbo cart (sampling mostly off of vinyl), using Octamed IV and recording to tape about 18 months ago. Sold the Amiga to go back to hardware samplers but nothing's hit the spot for workflow or inspiration in quite the same way, so I'm just about to buy a 500+ and get back to it.

Well, well...did not see this coming. Proper rainy-UK circa 2004 & Stones Throw vibes ...takes me well back.

Fanqz!

I loved using the A1200 but it was so damn noisey. I had to have a DBX single-ended noise reduction unit on each output just to get it approaching passable. And recording to cassette through analogue gear didn't help, as I am not so made that I have the attention to detail or patience necessary to get a good sound with it. The upcoming stuff, once I get my hands on another Amiga, should sound a fair bit better as I've got a better sampler this time (DSS8+) and have since ditched all the analogue gear in favour of the cheap all-in-one solution of a Roland VS880EX.
