Vol WB3.1 is full when "Copy Ram:lha_68020 C:lha"

Hey all

I've been setting up a new WinUAE installation on my arcade machine and have run into a snag which I'm sure has an explanation I will kick myself for once I know the cause.

I have set up WB3.1, and all fine up to this point, so am now adding all the extr goodies described in the guide for this.

I get as far as lha:run ram: and this works fine (i.e. it lists all the extracted lha items), but when I try the next line of copying 68020 it tells me that my WB3.1 volume is full!

At this point the System folder shows as 13% full, 19M free, 2950k in use, and I set up the HDF as 22MB like the guide describes.

I presume I've either missed a step somewhere, or done something stupid in order that I'm getting this error before I've even really done anything much other than install Workbench, but I'm not sure what after trying to retrace my steps. Plus what the system folder tells me about the amount of space used, does not really seem to correspond to the error in question.

If anyone would be kind enough to offer assistance I'd be really grateful thankyou.

Cheers!

Can you link to this "guide" so we know what steps you followed?

First thing to check: not sure if lha.run ram: works as you intend it.
Also make sure you mounted the HDF as Read/Write. Althought that would bring a "Volume is write protected" error instead.

C:lha means there is a folder named lha if I am not mistaken. Should be renamed to lha and then copy to C:

No.

copy ram:lha_68020 c:lha

if a drawer c:lha exists, it will copy the file as c:lha/lha_68020

if c:lha does not exist it will create a file c:lha

if c:lha is already a file it will be overwritten.

copy ram:lha_68020 c:lha/

might create a drawer c:lha and copy the file as c:lha/lha_68020, depending on AmigaDOS version. Or it complains that c:lha does not exist as a drawer.

AmigaOS does not have folders.

Please list the output of command „assign“ here. Maybe there is a drive as C: in your system which is full, like a flopoy or so.
