Anyone installed a Buddha Flash PHOENIX ed. Z2 controller on an A3000/4000 ?
I just received a Buddha Flash Phoenix ed. zorro IDE controller (needed a cheap alternative to the A4000 onboard IDE) but there is a paper inside telling that "although your "phoenix" Buddha would work in a Zorro Slot, it is not recommended to do that because of the additional Phoenix connector"
what phoenix connector? it looks like the kickflash to me... anyone using one on their amiga? ![]() ![]() ![]() also, is the IDEFIX software supplied with the card nescessary to install on OS3.9 ??? |

Have A Budda phoenix in my a1500, no mention of the phoenix connector in the instructions - does warn however to check the manuals page on www.ami.ga before connecting clock port extentions.
By the way my budda reads but usually crashes if i try to write to any drive connected to it. This is the second one to do so. hope that helps Paul |

I am not 100% sure about compatibility but the PHOENIX connecter is a special connector which is compatible with the Phoenix motherboard which is a 3rd party replacement for an A1000 motherboard.

it appears my version is a normal zorro one, the phoenix connector is missing, only the drills to solder one exist... it looks exactly like THIS
maybe I am doing something wrong, even if I just plug it , the amiga does the 2nd setpatch reboot and just sits with a blank screen, no aga or rtg output... |

The first card I had gave very similar problems. Tried max transfer etc to limited success. 2nd card better can at least read cdroms etc. and when i installed wb 3.1 on the hdd on another miggy, would boot and allow small changes, large file transfers would bomb out and corrupt the drive. Still an ongoing problem.
Good luck |

no but will try - thanks for the info.
I was more inclined to blame my old miggy as ive never had a zorro card attached to it before. |

anyone has any idea WHY my 4000 won't complete booting if I just plug the buddha in? no software, no drivers, just plug it in and no-go...
