Exclamation The Amiga's Greatest Musical Moments

Well after being directed to Cody's threads about his top 50 musical moments in Amiga games...

http://eab.abime.net/search.php?s=&a...der=descending

...I've decided to start my own thread. However in this thread I want to know what you guys think is great Amiga music. Both games and demo's are allowed. I don't want to know everyone's top 50 just a select few of the very best Amiga music moments. The best or most mentioned musical moments will be turned into mp3's by me. They will then be upped to the zone on demand. I have already converted 2 Amiga games title music into mp3 format. One of my favourites is in the zone at the moment. The excellent intro tune to Cannon Fodder. The other tune is the fantastic intro to F1GP. Here are others I will probably be converting into mp3:

Liberation - Captive II (Title Music)
The Settlers (In Game)
Jaguar XJ220 (Thrash Pig Song)
Cannon Fodder 2 (Title Music)
Colonization (In Game)
Soccer Kid AGA (In Game + Title Music)
Ishar AGA (Title Music)

And the music in Abyss'demo "Extra Life" (by MUffler of coz!)

Ghouls'n Ghosts - i'm always humming the music to level 2 and 3

and the track in Turrican 2 called "toxic metal" or something (sp?)....never got to the level but that tune is just sooooo cool!

all games should have a sound test option in my opinion- makes recording to minidisc easier

Happy Cool

Lots of music for me to checkout. While I get round to that I have ripped the music from Pinball Illusions for Drake1009. I forgot about that most excellent intro music. That has been mp3'd but it's a little to large (3.5MB) to fit in the zone. If anyone is interested though I could always RAR it up into the zone.

I'm *totally* agree with you Akira !
You should try the 1-2 atarist version of T2 (aka "desert rocks"), a little better IMO (even more chippy)
Other excellents tracks from original CD are "bionic action" & "climb to survive".

Btw, did you know that Virgill was a new member of this board since a few days ?!
(he has done music for sanity demo: Interference, and much much more )

I heard it, but I still preffer the more "orchestrated" Amiga version. The ST version impressed me though, and I found it quite megacool for a chippy

I got one, why do you post mp3 of those MODS ??!!

I found my version on exotica.

Did you join them yourself? And if so, does that mean the annoying loop thing is gone? I've noticed the version I have doesn't play quite right with winamp or kjofol, it never gets really into the song but loops back to the start.

Some of my personal favorites in no particular order:

Cannon Fodder - When waiting for a mission to start, kicks in with the helicopter scene.
Liberation - Intro music, when animation is playing
Superfrog - I love the music to this game, probably all the music, for the different themed worlds and the intro. The music really adds to the atmosphere of the different level types.
Settlers - Not much I can say to describe it, just the background music.
Ruff n Tumble - I'm not sure if it ever changes but the title and first world music.
Chaos Engine - Again first world music, haven't got to the 3rd and 4th (haven't tried)
UFO: Enemy Unknown - Especially the interceptor music, but I'm judging by the PC version

Yes I edited it together myself. It seems perfect to me. Try it and find out.

RCK: MP3 is better than mod for me and lots of others. You can't listen to mods from a CD or on the move via an mp3 player. However I will stop uploading them if they are eating to much bandwidth.

I hope you recorded these from REAL Amiga sound output, at least. My iBook plays MODs on the move

Cannon Fodder - Not only the game is great, musically it's also amazing too. The intro song is classic, and the music that plays while your soldiers are joining your army while you stare at the mountain with the dead soldiers is as good as the title screen one, and the loading mission tune is very good.

Apidya - While Turrican may have the better music, I think Apidya has the best soundtrack in any amiga game. The way each world has it's own theme, remixed in each level of the world is just genious, and the tunes are just excellent.

Battle Squadron - I rank this game with the best overall sound on amiga. The title music is great, the in-game music is FANTASTIC, and the sound-effects are just top-notch.

Jim Power - World 1 has one of the finest tunes ever written on an amiga. Other tunes are great.

Benefactor - title screen tune is great, and fits it perfectly. Also, each world has it's own tune, and each tune fits the world perfectly too.

And then of course there's the Turrican trilogy, but I think there's no need to mention it

There are some scener's songs I like, but I don't remember their names..... Lizardking's Theme by Lizardking is great.
