ERROR: Leisure Suit Larry 3
OK, Larry 3 is not playable at all. Here is the whole story. I think nobody will get bored.
First I was playing my version of Larry 3 which has its internal number of 1.003. I was using slave in version 1.3. The game in this version lacks of sampled music but in overall it is not different from any other. Oh, and it is on four disks (instead of five). The game hacks when I am playing Patti and I am going to enter the jungle (it is somewhere in the 60% of the game completed). Music simply stops, the game is not loading data. Then I tried some other version I had found on the net. Its internal number was 1.027, it is on five disks and has sampled music. Unfortunately the game is not supported by slave. I get Address Error when I am going to enter the bar (at the beginning of the game). Next what I did was using Killergorilla's version. Its internal number is 1.039 but it requests me to insert disk 5. As far as I noticed there is no resource file named RESOURCE.005 (version 1.027 has such file but files from different versions are not compatible. I used that file, the game didn't request me for the disk but it stopped loading the data and the music faded out (the same as in my version)). I even began to wonder if my four disk version also does not lack some file/disk. Is there anyone who has fully working version of this game or has that missing file to Killergorilla's version or maybe my version? Could you please "zone" it? |

Check the Zone, tell me if it's working. It's from version 1.039.

Yes, it is working. Thanks mate. Although the slave is not compatible with it in the matter of protection but I have the manual so it will not be a problem

When I was playing my version (1.003) everything was according to the readme (I could type any numbers when giving the ticket and opening the locker). In case of Killergorilla's version + your resource file (i.e. 1.039) removal of copy protection by slave does not work and you need a manual to get it through (you need to enter exact numbers from the manual).
Simply saying, slave is compatible with this version (1.039) of the game (it works at least to the moment I am now) but does not remove its copy protection like it is said in the readme. |
